So much for all those sales lies about Wyndham and Margaritaville ending their relationship and there never being anymore Margaritaville Vacation Club locations

I would be more impressed if it was anywhere BUT Central Florida or Myrtle Beach. Both markets over saturated already.

They just keep building more resorts in Orlando- so the demand must be there.

If it's open to resale buyers at 5 months, we will probably check it out. That's if we still own Club Wyndham by the time they finish it.

That game has a finite length of rope. Disney, Hilton, Wyndham and Marriott have built expansive and ornate resorts in Orlando. They also have lower tier properties.

There is way more supply than demand most of the year in Orlando. I heard from two different sales people, one of which was at Bonnet Creek, but one was not even in Florida, that Wyndham was trying to exit their commitment at Star Island. I stayed at Star Island in February, and the unit I was in was one of the non-Wyndham units, but I walked around the entire property and parts of it are pretty rough and there are entire buildings sitting unused, with a couple possibly under renovation.

This just came up in conversation, because I don't own nor would own, anything in Orlando.

I just know that for every new timeshare that opens in Orlando, there's one or two that close, or are in financial trouble. Especially in Kissimmee. You drive up and down 192 and you will see gutted hulks of hotels and resorts sitting derelict. Orlando's built out, so the only avenue for much growth is expansion at existing properties where possible, or tear down / rebuilds.

I think several areas are that way
We are in Branson
We are at Westgate Branson Woods
It’s basically deserted, yet if you look 👀 at RCI or II there is nothing available other than a studio…. Very strange

Are you not having a good experience with Wyndham?

I would say that he is seeing a difference between Wyndham and the Marriott product. Marriott/ Westin/ Sheraton have us spoiled.

So far it is our most expensive ownership on a per night basis. Though we will do better this year because we got more nights from our points. Most resorts are also a one and done for us.

Yeah, but Bonnet Creek is really nice.

In my opinion, and after having stayed at both a number of times, I find Wyndham Bonnet Creek to be nicer and more upscale than Sheraton Vistana Resort. @dioxide45 I know you’ve stayed at both several times as well, do you disagree?

Yeah, but Bonnet Creek is really nice.
I’ve only stayed at WYndham properties after a lot of research, but so far I’ve found:

1. Bonnet Creek;
2. Westwinds (in Myrtle); and
3. Midtown 45 (in NYC)
To all be nicer than the only Sheraton I’ve stayed at, which is Vistana.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Vistana as well, but I just dont think it’s as well upkept.

I’d probably rank the Wyndham in Atlantic City below Sheraton though, although we still enjoyed it.

I would say the resort as a whole is better at Bonnet Creek. Though we like the rooms a little better at Vistana Villages. We aren't big on Vistana Resort and haven't been back there in several years. Our only issue with Bonnet Creek is that seems super busy all the time. We don't get that at Vistana Villages. Though we travel off season to both of them.

I’ve never done Vistana Villages, although it’s on my list. My only frame of reference is Vistana Resort, and I think it’s gone downhill. (The last time we went the villa smelled). Then there are the WiFi issues…

I don't stay at the Vistana resort, just Vistana Villages. Bonnet Creek is great, especially the presidential units. Shearwater is great, too. I love it. But I loved it before it was ever a Wyndham, I loved it as PAHIO and bought it as PAHIO.

We had a 2 bedroom at Wyndham Branson Meadows, got it for 60% discounted points, cancelled it and booked Marriott's Willow Ridge. The Meadows is a 4, the Willow Ridge is 9. There really is no comparison between the two.

Wyndham Panama City was not great. Marriott's Legends Edge was great.

Wyndham has nothing in Palm Beach or Marco Island. They have nothing on Maui.

I prefer Marriott Manor Club to anything Wyndham, stayed at all of the Wyndhams in Williamsburg.

LaCascada was so-so but compared to Hyatt's Wild Oak Ranch, it was a 5. I just didn't love it, and because it's downtown, we had to pay parking fees.

Just got my points earlier this year. Stayed at the Clearwater(probably got the best 2 BR deluxe bedroom) and National Harbor. I enjoyed both locations. I could see myself repeating Clearwater if I am lucky to book it again.

We rented Clearwater from an owner before buying into Club Wyndham. We had a pretty good 2BR deluxe. We liked it well enough.

Getting back to Orlando:

Everyone talks about how nice Wyndham's Bonnet Creek is, and admittedly it is, for Wyndham. But having stayed at Hilton's "Signa" Bonnet Creek Resort right across the street, it's a completely different world in terms of class and amenities.

My work sends me to a conference there every year and it's unreal. Wyndham's rooms are bigger, there's no doubt, but there is so much more to do and the facilities are world class at the Signa. It's not even comparable.

It's like comparing Wyndham's Bonnet Creek to Wyndham's Orlando International Resort in terms of amenities and quality of facility.

Also the lower tier of timeshares, like the Westgates, VRI and Diamond (before Hilton took them over) were getting tired

Are you comparing the Wyndham Grand hotel to the Signa or comparing the Bonnet Creek timeshare to the hotel? How could the hotel rooms at the Signa be larger than most timeshare units that are 1BR and 2BR?

My post specifically references room size. And i'm talking about the timeshare at Wyndham BC.

Specifically the overall resort, is nicer top to bottom and includes vastly more amenities.

The fact the the timeshare side of Wyndham BC has condo style rooms does not overcome that.

Kudos for bringing it back to Florida, but why are we comparing a timeshare to a full-service conference hotel? I'm sure it's a fantastic experience when your municipal employer picks up the tab for the $210+/night (plus tax) conference rate at a full-service hotel, but they're two different products entirely. I'm also spending less on maintenance fees for a 2BR in prime season at WBC than your $210/night hotel room (even before tax).

I don't think anyone has disputed that the range of hotel amenities and luxury generally extends higher than that of even the nicest timeshares (which I've always considered Club Wyndham a solid 3 star, not a 4 or 5).
