Sheraton Flex
Hi,

we bought a Sheraton Flex timeshare in Orlando and were told that the Interval Internationale Account will be set up within 30 days after our timeshare was finalized. This time has long passed...
We wrote several emails via the Vistana App and asked for assistance but we never get a reply.
We also addressed the email mentioned in our contract for new owner directly but also no response!
What are your experiences?
Do you ever get a reply from Sheraton or is it like:
your contract is finalized and now we will never come back to you, never answer your questions.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Assuming that you bought resale, you will need to purchase your own II account. If you bought it from the developer, you will need the purchase to close before an II account will be set up for you. Typically it takes 3 months to close on a purchase.

I'm not sure how you are contacting them, but try calling owner services at: 888-786-3548 for help, and have all of your account details in-hand when you call.

If your ownership has been set up on the Vistana online dashboard and you have access to your account there, when you log in go down the left hand side a couple boxes and find the link that says What I Own. Click on that and it will take you to your ownership and in that display it will tell you what your interval international account number is if it's been assigned. You can then go to the Interval international website intervalworld.com and try to set up an online account there.

Curious how long it took you to get the Interval account set up? We purchased about a month ago, and I’m wondering what to expect or if you have any tips to speed up the process. Thanks!

Have you checked your account on Vistana.com to see if you have an II Member # assigned? Did you purchase direct from Vistana?

I purchased direct from Vistana, and I've been looking on my dashboard to see if the II Member # pops up. Based on this thread I've been looking at the "What I Own" section, but no II information is posted there yet.

I recall it taking about a month when we bought our resale week. Sounds like they aren't any faster when you buy directly from them.

That’s helpful to know, thanks! I’ll keep checking.

They have to wait for the transaction to close before they set up an account and according to the sales people cash sales close in 30 days whereas financed sales can take 60 to 90 sometimes.

Update: our II Membership number popped up on the What I Own section of the dashboard yesterday, roughly 2 months after we purchased. It still won’t allow me to create an online account, the phone number isn’t matching, so I’ll have to call II to get it sorted. But thanks to all who commented here for the helpful info!

Hi - I have a Sheraton Flex that is a resale and newly acquired as well. I am trying to add the membership details to Interval International so I can either make deposits or requests. I have an existing II account that is tied to my MVC resale (Beach Place) and it seems like I could potentially add the new Flex, which i tried a few days ago. Called II and they added it and it was showing for a bit, then Vistana /MVC denied the back end and so it went from pending to being removed from my account. II agent told me to contact Vistana about this, and I did and in a long call - they couldn't tell me what was wrong so and transferred me to MVC, who also saw the points in my account and knew because it was a resale, that I would not have a separate II account and was unsure what to do. They transferred me back to Interval after speaking with someone by chat (I guess they are tied in since both part of Marriott), who took my name , was relatively unhelpful despite being briefed by the MVC agent, and then escalated to their 2nd line who ultimately said they would need to check with Resort Assistance. So I got basically nowhere unfortunately.

That said, I assume I am not waiting for Vistana/MVC to provide me a separate Interval account, as this is a resale. Likewise, I see on Vistana website that you may have to pay fees in advance to move points to II. However, if this was the issue I would also assume MVC would just simply say - you have to "authorize the points" and pay in advance to move 2026 points, yet they did not say that. Another option might be start with a totally new II account, but I believe that would incur a whole membership fee whereas it still seems possible that I could have more than own ownership on the self-paid II account.

So, kind of lost how actually to add a resale flex to II and hoping someone has advice having done it before!

First, I am not sure what you are having issues with. Were you able to successfully add your Sheraton Flex to your existing II account? And the only problem is that you couldn't successfully deposit your points into II. Or is the issue actually adding the new Sheraton Flex "resort" to the II account?

When did you buy the Beachplace Towers week? If it is enrolled in the Abound points program?

Hi- I was trying to add my Sheraton Flex to my existing purchased II account which has the Beach Place Towers week already listed there. The problem was that VSE verification did not accept the Flex and cancelled it out. I actually did this on the call with Interval, so they ensured we used the right codes (SF2), but it still did not work. When I called back II they said VSE denied the request and they didn't know why, hence why I went back and forth. No one could figure it out.

I bought the beach towers earlier this year resale so not in abound. Hope that helps with any advice you have and thanks for your help.

I would suggest emailing the II TUG Members Mailbox. Mark, who usually handles these emails, has helped others in the past when they had issues adding a new property to their existing account.

Mmm, I may be wrong but I think you are denied because it is a resale. Resale Sheraton Flex is non-mandatory. Recently even people who owns seperate resale mandatory resorts have been given a hard time to combine those. I know all the resales should be lumped together easily in II but anecdotally my retail Vistana and Marriott units/points have not been combined yet.

I emailed Mark at the Tug II support email address given above and so wanted to provide the answer from him that Vistana did not approve because it still has the points in the recission period. I think its a glitch, or else because MVC/Vistana system assumes all newly issued points are recission for first 30, 60 days etc. If it was a developer purchase, I've heard there is something like this where it takes 30+ days to get connected to II. I've noticed tracking of resales by Owner Services (OS) is minimal. I've heard OS ask if I want to move points to abound, etc, which obviously I can't do. In any case, I wanted to clarify that based on everything I've heard, resale Flex can transfer to II and they can book their part of the trust (Sheraton, in the case of Sheraton Flex) in the Flex (8-12M) season. I have a link in my vistana site to transfer points to II after paying the next year MF. You bring up a good point whether I will be able to have them connected all on one II account, and Mark also said that was possible, but we will see if in practice it happens.
