We recently purchased a resale at Shadow Ridge and completed all the paperwork back in late August, but we still haven't received any confirmation that the transfer has gone through. We're working with Resort Closing Inc, and when we reach out, they keep mentioning that it's still with Marriott. We would be quite concerned if the previous owner hadn't booked us a week for this year (which we used in January). Is it typical for this process to take so long? We are at 6months now.

Six months is too long!

Most Marriott closings are currently taking around 90 to 100 days or so from what I've read on TUG.

Well worth for you to elevate your inquiry up the Marriott ladder to obtain further information.

Best of luck!

Can you confirm that your deed has been recorded? Find out when it was sent to MVC. It's been taking around 90 days from when it's in MVC's hands. If it's been longer than that from when it was sent to MVC, reach out to Owner Modifications at MVC to see what's going on.

@Dean is 100% on point. It has been well reported in many threads here that transfer time over the past year with MVC is approximately 90 days from the time MVC receives the deed. This is also my own experience (91 days).

I would be asking the closing company when the deed was sent to MVC. If less than 90 days, you have identified your roadblock. If great than 90 days, I would be on the phone to MVC Owner Modifications.

The time delay is very frustrating, certainly unnecessary, and likely punitive. If MVC was fair to us they would similarly delay the transfer of MVC sales and transfers for their own customers. I'll bet they whisk their own stuff right on thru in days. Has anyone noticed this in direct purchases of weeks from MVC?

A smart business would enlist a few people for a short time to catch up the backlog rather than antagonize their customer base. Yes, I do feel they are antagonizing those purchasing resale. Once caught up on the backlog, the staff should be able to sustain an earlier commitment of service.

How would MVC like it if those of us with enrolled weeks delayed deposit of our weeks for points by 60 days? You know the points system is largely reliant on our owned weeks - the trust is deficient in available weeks for most desirable resorts.

Why? Resale buyers aren’t their customer base.

Now HGV has a different business model. They charge a hefty fee to process transfers and get the job done in a couple of weeks because HGVC buyers *are* their customers. But I doubt many people here would be happy to pay MVC a bit under $1000 for each week they buy.

We bought a week that was sent to MVC end of Nov. It completed transfer beginning of this month, 102 days. Completing paperwork means nothing, when did MVC get your deed?
