If a Hyatt resale is purchased, can you still trade in their internal point system? Or are you limited to trading through Interval to another Hyatt Residence ? Marriott has you pay a fee to ‘enroll’ the week.

Yes you get all internal trading privileges as a Hyatt resale owner right now. They treat you as if you bought from the developer. I own a Key West Hyatt week. I am selling because I could not figure out how to use their internal trading system and I lost my week and points. I would love to know how other Tuggers exchange within Hyatt.
I wonder what a Hyatt Residence Salesperson would say I would be giving up , by buying a resale ?
Hi Would HRC trading in IL have priority with Marriott and Vistana properties ? Just like Marriott and Vistana have preferential? And would exchanging with IL with these properties have discounted exchange fee of 159 or the regular 200. It is my thinking they are owned by same company now. Thanks.

When is Hyatt maintenance fee due on Dec 1st of prior year or Jan 1st of use year? Thanks!
Could they decide that those who bought resale are no longer eligible for exchanges? Like if you bought resale in 2021 could they decide in 2023 that you can no longer exchange into other HRC properties or II?
A Hyatt salesperson will tell you something like, "legacy inventory is dwindling because all the owners are transferring their weeks into Portfolio, so you will have very little to choose from." As far as I can tell, this is a big fat lie. I think Hyatt/Marriott came up with the portfolio points system because they ran out of legacy weeks to sell. The legacy weeks are the cream of the crop of ownership, imo. For the most part, the best weeks in the best resorts are legacy weeks. The owners of those best weeks at the best resorts aren't converting them into points ownership. Portfolio seems to own a LOT of weeks at the less popular (non-peak) times of the less-coveted resorts. We own 2 diamond resale weeks at Pinon Pointe, and this has worked out super well for us. Every year we use our points to book (through the Hyatt internal system) a week at the Hyatt Kaanapali, a week at the Hyatt Incline Village in Lake Tahoe, and 4 nights at the Hyatt in Carmel. These are fantastic resorts in fantastic places. There is no way I could do the same using the points program, without paying a LOT more money.I wonder what a Hyatt Residence Salesperson would say I would be giving up , by buying a resale ?
It's not hard to exchange internally. I don't know about how hard it is to book Beaver Creek during ski season, but my guess is it is possible if you plan and try sufficiently in advance. Maui is a hard booking to get, but it's not impossible and you have to be flexible. If you only want to travel to Maui during school breaks, and not at any other time, I think it would hard to count on that. We were able to book the Hyatt Kaanapali in 12/2023 and we will be going again in 4/2025. I didn't choose those days specifically, I booked them when they became available, but both with several months advance notice.I know this is an older thread, but how hard it is to exchange internally?
I am looking at buying some HRC resale weeks. I was looking at HVC/platinum points (formally welk) but not sure thats the best route.
Realistically, how hard is it to get a week or partial week during ski season in beaver creek or a decent week in hawaii with the internal Hyatt system? Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! Would you be able to look at mountain lodge or ph beaver creek for the next year and see if there is any availability during the ski season? We are ready to pull the trigger on a resale week, but concerned that trading would be pretty limited. If its limited, it might make sense to find a week at mountain lodge or ph beaver creek and just purchase that. It's not hard to exchange internally. HVC does not have access to HRC resorts except thru Interval like everyone else. HVC and HRC are 2 separate things, although HPP is trying to bridge that but HPP is not a good thing if you do your research.I am looking at buying some HRC resale weeks. Why would you say HPP is not a good thing? It has its plusses and minus's like all programs, but curious why you think its not good?HVC does not have access to HRC resorts except thru Interval like everyone else. You need to look for an HRC deeded week if you want access to HRC inventory.
