Taking a break from the parks and wanted to try either one next June. Have not been to either one but figured we will give it a try. Besides the weather what would you recommend as an option for a family of 4 with 2 teens.

Hi, we have been to both and stayed at the Hilton head DVC resort.

I think I would choose Hilton head with two teenagers. If they like to bike they could take advantage of all the bike paths. It is right by the marina which has shops and restaurants and is a lovely place to walk.

The Vero beach resort looked great but it didn’t seem to have as much easy access to shops and activities that teenagers could go to on their own. The Vero beach resort is right on the ocean so if that is important the pick it.
Hilton head has a shuttle to the beach and a beach house with restaurant washrooms and games right on the beach.
Some Vero beach units have ocean views.
We love the views of broad creak at Hilton head. There are summer fireworks at the marina by the Hilton head DVC resort in the summer.

I've stayed at both. I've stayed at VB several times and HHI DVC once but we're at HH yearly for a week for a family trip. I prefer the VB resort but the HHI area. I'd chose HHI with 2 teens, more to do in the area including great bike paths. Getting the reservation may be more difficult at HHI than VB and that may make your decision for you. You might also consider putting in an exchange request for the nicer Marriotts on HHI that are on the beach.

I feel Hilton Head will have more attractions for teenagers then VB.

HH has more for teens to do than VB. When are you going? Over the next couple of months there is next to no availability at either. HH books up with owners (11 months) for the summer months. VB is booked pretty solid (all room categories) until the last week of August. I’ve been to both, prefer VB by a long shot (on the beach, laid back, gorgeous resort), but for things to do with teens HH for sure.

It sounds like i cant go wrong with either one i choose. Will need to see what the family consensus is to what they are interested in. As of now this will be a middle of June trip. Plan is to book at BLT as this is our home resort and when the 7 month window opens try to go to either one. If there is no availability then we will keep BLT.

That sounds like a good plan. VB is far more likely to be available for that time than HHI. Don't forget you can wait list to replace if neither is available with up to 2 WL spots.

We have stayed at both and I don't have a clear preference for either resort. I'm not much of a fan of Hilton Head in general, though, so Vero Beach would win the toss.

I would choose HH with two teenagers. They can rent bikes. Take shuttle to beach. Walk to the marina/restaurants/shops, sometimes some entertainment/music.

We have enjoyed both.

Did you decide? Your decision might come down to if there is any availability at either resort (unless you own there). Good luck.

We've stayed at both and we're owners at HH. Different vibes. VB more laid back, old Florida, Beach experience with not a lot to do, which is great sometimes. HH, LOTS of activities and choices, restaurants, movies and striking distance of savanna and Charleston if you got the hankering.

What is the feel of HHI as a resort though, is it boring?

No restaurant, what activities if any do they have at the resort itself? How does the pool compare to VB? Is there a splash pad?
