Please suggest your favorite restaurants in the Sandestin area. We will be staying at the Embarc Sandestin and we will have a car. Any cuisine is fine. Prefer places where locals eat, hole in the wall, bars, etc. with good food. Not looking for ambience or high end, white tablecloth dining and not looking for chain restaurants. This will be our first trip to Sandestin. Thanks for your suggestions.

Sorry the only restaurant I remember eating at was Tommy Bahama's which is a chain but we enjoyed it. For breakfast we liked the Donut Hole. If you haven't been on route 30A which is east of Sandestin it has many interesting small towns including Seaside(Truman Show filmed here), Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach. Seaside also has Airstream RV's with a variety of takeout food.

We enjoyed Stinky's Fish Camp on 30A in Santa Rosa Beach when we were in Sandestin a few months ago.

Thanks fillde and gravity rules. We haven't been on 30A and will have a car so we will explore the surrounding area. Please keep the restaurant recommendations coming for Sandestin, Destin, and on 30A. Also is there a good place to buy seafood?

Your welcome. Joe Willy is my favorite all-time Jet quarterback. Namath to Maynard!

Camilles, Louis Louis, Fire & Farm, Fat Clemenzas, Acme Oyster House, Kenny D's, just to name a few.....

I just now saw this post. I'm headed to Sandestin as well. Have you traveled there yet? If so, which of the restaurants were your favorites?

Yes, we were there. We really enjoyed McGuires Irish Pub. Monday through Friday they have a daily $9.99 special. Their Shepards pie and fish and chips specials were very good. They had Reuben egg rolls (not on special) that were delicious. They also bring out a dark bread loaf dripping with honey butter--delicious. They have their own butcher shop, gift shop and brew their own beer and root bear. All their food was very good. We also enjoyed the Ocean Club restaurant. We had a delicious filet mignon, and the chicken picatta and chicken parmigiana were good too. We also ate at Fish On--the food was fresh and pretty good for that type of fast food place. I wouldn't recommend the Beach Bar. The view can't be beat but the food was just ok. We had a New York style pizza at Brozzoni on 30A in Santa Rosa and it very good. We also enjoyed Italian food at La Famagilia and Thai food at Elephant Thai. Donuts from Donut Hole were good but we've had better donuts. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks so much for the recommendations. I’m already excited to try the Reuben egg rolls at McGuires! I’m looking forward to the beach and the sunshine too!

I second Stinky's Fish Camp - we go there every time, sometimes twice on a visit.

There are several Destin area restaurants that have certificates on restaurant.com. Check the website and see if there are any restaurants you want to try, message me with the name of the restaurant and your email address and I'll send you a certificate.

(I have a bunch of what restaurant.com calls gift cards with a face value of $155 and unused restaurant certificates with a face value of $600 that can be exchanged for gift cards).

I used to give certificates to people who rented weeks from me. The certificates are supposed to be self-canceling but it hasn't worked that way.
