The funny movie thread reminded me of the most boring movie I've wasted my time on lately Capote

So, yeah it won awards, so yeah the actors were convincing, but crimeny sakes, it just went on & on & on......
Sure glad I only spent $2 at Blockbuster on that one.

Too many to name...or remember, and if they were THAT boring, we turned them off and returned them. Why waste our time? We don't go to the movies any more...we just rent them.

Citizen Kane

Yes, I know it is a classic...and was even voted the best movie ever made by film critics a couple of years ago. But I think it is incredibly boring. And long. And boring. If they would have just said Rosebud was a sled at the beginning, I could have saved myself hours of tedium. :)

The English Patient

Remember the Seinfeld where Elaine can't stand it and everyone else loves it and they're going to see it again and again? There's a special edition or something and they're all coming out crying and she says, "They made it LONGER?????"

"Unforgiven" with Clint Eastwood and it won the Oscar for Best Picture.

Citizen Kane and Unforgiven boring? lol. That's like classifying One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest a comedy.

I can tell you that even though I find Sasha Baron Cohen to be very very funny, I didn't really like the Borat movie. It was a good idea for a comedy bit, but not a movie.

Insomnia with Al Pacino and Robin Williams

Good news is it did cure mine!!

Tied for first was Once Upon a Time in Mexico with Antonio Banderas and Johnny Depp. We were on a weekend away with some friends, we'd all had a few drinks and decided to rent a movie. Thought with Antonio and Johnny, must be good. Absolutely hated it. Funny thing was hubby and I rented it again when we were at home, thinking that maybe the alcohol had somehow distorted our vision of the movie the first time. It was worse stone cold sober. There's probably a lesson in there somewhere.

We just watched the Departed and couldn't see how it won Best Picture. It wasn't horrible, but just kind of dull.

I like these kinds of topics.

I saw Conan the Barbarian when it first came out and nearly died.....and now I live where Conan rules!:ignore: :bawl:

Absolutely hated DreamGirls. The yodeling drove hubby and me nuts but we could not leave because we had gone with another couple.

Julia

Years ago I went to the theater with 2 friends to see Julia, which had gotten rave reviews. I fidgeted through the whole movie and felt foolish because my 2 friends appeared to be completely engrossed. I found out when the lights came up that they had both fallen asleep! I guess none of us enjoyed it.;)

We just rented Stranger Than Fiction with Will Ferrell - can't get much
more boring than that one.

Oh God that movie seemed like it was at least four hours long. Talk about tedious.

Fell asleep twice trying to watch...

Chariots of Fire.

Gotta agree on the English Patient, but also The Plague! That was absolutely dreadful. I have never been so bored in my life. I was so cheesed at the wasted rental that I told the video store and they gave me another movie instead. That was the first and last time and ever did that.  Truly dreadful movie.

I think it actually was 4 hours long.
Nice scenery though.

Just thought of another snorer:

My Dinner With Andre

What was that about anyway? Couldn't pay attention enough to find out.

Groundhog Day.
If it wasn't the most boring, it was the most annoying.

These are supposedly classiscs, but I have neve been able to make it through Casablanca, or It's a Wonderful Life.

Also Being There with Peter Sellers - my husband thinks it's the funniest ever but I can't stand it.

Wicker Man was the worst - I had a hard time staying in my seat while rolling my eyes.

BORAT:doh:

This has got to be the all time most boring movie!!

I actually loved Being There with Peter Sellers. I'm going to put that on my Netflix list. I haven't seen it in ages.

I actually get bored during action movies when there is no plot or narrative just continual chase scenes and alot of shooting.

without a doubt...

Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
