Wyndham; Disney OKW & SSR; Marriott's Willow Ridge, Shadow Ridge and Grand Chateau; Val Chatelle; Hono Koa OF (3); SBR(LOTS), SDO a few); WKORV-OFC-4 and Westin Desert Willow.
Fees for 2024: $7,768.12. This is enough points to book 4 weeks in a 2 bedroom at Kauai Coast at the Beachboy. I added point charts.
Usage begins 2025, fees begin 2025, but you will have use starting 7/2024 to book want you need in 2025, 11 months out for West Club resorts, and 7 months out for Hawaii resorts.

West Club resorts, but Mountainside Lodge is not in West Club:

1705427517871.png

This is the West Club, including resorts in San Francisco, Napa Valley (Vino Bello), Anaheim, San Diego, and also includes Arizona and Little Sweden in Door County. You can book Oregon (Whispering Woods), and many other resorts, including Kona Coast and Paniolo Greens on the Big Island, Waikiki Marina resort on Oahu, and Kauai Beach Boy on Kauai.

1705425080288.png

These resorts are very easy to book during your booking window. I have been able to book Kauai Beach Boy oceanfront 2 bedroom without any problem at all at exactly 7 months out. I have two reservations currently for June of 2024. One can be yours.

1705425205737.png

You can book any California resort at 11 months out because that is your priority window. Hawaii resorts, the window is 7 months.

I have successfully rented Peacock Suites many times, especially the two bedrooms. Vino Bello is very easy to book and is a very popular resort, but the points are higher, and the studios during weekdays are bargain priced at .31 X

This ownership is free to you. We would pay the transfer fees to Wyndham for the transfer.

You get six free housekeeping a year. As long as you book no more than six reservations per year, you won't pay housekeeping at all. Most resorts are about 4,200 or higher points for 7 nights. It's easy to use these without paying HK fees, but I have paid a lot of HK fees because I book resorts that are much less than 4,200 points. For example, Peacock Suites is 2,550 points for a full week in prime season and much less than that in off-season (when we go).

Some resorts have parking fees, especially the resorts in cities like San Francisco and Anaheim.

I don't know if you can access point charts for Shell without an account. But if you have questions, I can probably copy/ paste specific resorts for you and send them via email.

We have owned for about 12 years and are ready to give this all away, but keep in mind that we do have small contracts that add up to the 25,300. We have some that are very small to some that are 5,000 points. You don't have to take it all at once. It's not all or nothing.

I like owning in a points system, because I can book just five nights in places like Anaheim, when all we are doing is visiting Disneyland for weekdays. Weekends are busier because Californians go then. Weekdays are less busy. The lesser expensive times of year, you can book nights for $31 in MF's per night. But using less nights is not necessarily good because you will burn your housekeeping fees (six with this membership) too quickly and will have to pay additional fees.

The price per point is .31 each in maintenance fees for 2024. A full week at Peacock Suites in Anaheim during summer, spring break and during Christmas, which are the busiest times for Disneyland, is .31 X 2,500 points = $775. That is what we have done a lot. We also book full weeks for friends and family for that price. A 2 bedroom for the busiest times of year (3 bedroom is the same price as 2 bedroom) is $1,209. Those 2 bedrooms are very nice. There is a parking fee at Peacock Suites, but if you don't bring a car, you can use the ART (rideart.org) shuttle for a very inexpensive cost to get around Anaheim and to get to/from Disneyland.

I have been a big fan of Shell, and we have used the points for our own trips many times, and it's also been rentable, but not for a profit at all. I haven't made anything renting Shell points, but it's always been okay to come out even. I have rented all of 2023 and 2024 points. Fees wouldn't start until 3/1 of 2025.

Shell points exchange with RCI. You do get a linked RCI account with your ownership. Good values can be found in RCI for resorts in places that Shell doesn't have in their system, like Maui, NYC, Orlando, etc.

Why are we giving these points away? We have Wyndham points that we have to start using more regularly (use or lose or deposit to RCI), and many of these areas are available through Wyndham, so we choose to keep the Wyndham Founder's level of ownership and give these Shell points away. Repetitive resorts in these two systems because Wyndham took over Shell years ago. Still, Shell is a separate entity from Wyndham.

I wouldn't want to start the closing process until early July. I have some Kauai weeks I have reserved to rent, and I have rented a few already. Again, your fees wouldn't start until 3/1/2025. I would pay the fees in full to 3/1. Just a matter of paying the balance for 2024 points in full.

Bumping up because I edited to add point charts.

Couple of questions I have been asked via PM that I feel need to be covered:

I cannot see much at Little Sweden currently. I used to see a lot, but I fear much of the inventory went somewhere else, possibly to Extra Vacations for Wyndham to rent and profit from, and yes, I think that's wrong.

There are no rules against renting Shell, but they don't make it easy lately. I have to call to add guest names, unless I add them at the time of booking. This is why you see a lot of people renting with a wide range of dates because they know that if they do not add names at the time of booking, you have to call, and then just because it is changed in Shell doesn't mean it's been changed at Wyndham; therefore, the guest name will not get to the resort. We had to do several calls to Shell and Peacock Suites for our rentals this past spring. I cannot believe how ridiculous this process is. Even then, Peacock Suites told me that our guests have to say our name as the main one on each reservation at check-in. What a PIA when renting through go-koala.com or Redweek verified/protected. It's been horrible for Shell owners.

But if you plan to use this yourself, or you are bringing family with you, be sure to add whomever will check into the unit at the time you book your reservation. Don't wait until later.

Another question I will answer here:

Guest certificates are free at the time you book the reservations, $25 to add them over the phone, but Shell hasn't been charging $25 when I call to add names. They have been very nice about it, but does it get added with the phone call? Not really because Wyndham runs one system, Shell runs the booking system, and the two don't shake hands. It's really awful. The Shell owner services team will tell you that they cannot believe the system is so broken, and the old Shell people blame Wyndham 100%.

Transaction fees: You get two free a year with every membership. Even my large number of points, only two are free, and I can do a bunch in one day because all of that day's transactions are free. So two full days of transactions are included. I can book 8 reservations at one time and it's free.

The 3rd transaction fee and every one thereafter for booking online with Shell is $17.50, and you can book many times during that same day for that $17.50. If you call, you have to pay $25 instead of $17.50. You can add guests at the time of booking resorts and book as many reservations in one day for that one transaction fee. I like that, but I remember when we it was not even charged.

Housekeeping fees after the initial six:

I was just asked via PM about the Waikiki Marina on Oahu, specifically for the points chart. I can copy/paste any points chart that you need, just let me know what you would like to see. Here is Waikiki Marina for anyone interested, and these do have a partial kitchen:

Shell calls it a full kitchen at Waikiki Marina:

What I really like about owning a point system is you don't have to book Fri-Fri, Sat-Sat, etc., when airfares are high. You can book Tues-Tues or Wed-Wed. 5,300 points for a week, you do the math at .31 a point, not a bad price for Oahu. Availability for spring break currently at Waikiki Marina:

Bumping to the top.

Through the Shell portal, I see many good exchanges into Hilton. One bedrooms with full kitchens at Parc Soleil in Orlando, the newest Hilton in Orlando, are 2,500 points, making it a very inexpensive exchange. 2,500 points. Any one bedroom in Orlando is 2,500 points. 2,500 points X .31 per point = $775.

Shell owners get a break on exchange fees as well:

I am curious about this and would like to talk to you. My Mom gave me a Shell timeshare but it is 1500/pts a year. It is not really enough to book a week depending.

I sent you a private message. I definitely still have these points.

I sent back a private message. I am hoping you received it and I was able to answer your questions.

When I get back home from Maui, I will return to this thread and post the breakdown of certificates that we own. I do have this listed on RW as well.

I liked Shell before Wyndham. It’s a shame, I think they are just using it to grow Wyndham at the expense of Shell owners.

We used to see a lot of Door County (Little Sweden) in Shell. I cannot find any. They went to Wyndham, of course.

I am thinking another person might be able to take advantage of a Wyndham offer to convert to Wyndham but not sure if Wyndham has an opportunity like that. They would never let me do it as a former mega renter.

I still have these points for giveaway. I will pay all costs for closing. Usage starts in 2025.

I have reservations made in December and need to wait until that rental is over to transfer these points.

Just FYI for those who are interested in Door County, Little Sweden. There is an abundance of inventory for Little Sweden in the fall. Not much for summer. The points required for a 2 bedroom are around 5,800 X .31, for those of you who like that idea of staying at Little Sweden.

Send me a PM, if you are interested in owning these points. I do have an ad on TUG Marketplace for Little Sweden rental for this September.

Would like to know more how this works. Is the MF =HK fees? Please provide $ obligations in detail. Thanks!

Maintenance fees are .31 per point. With this large ownership, you get six free housekeepings a year. Additional housekeeping has fees that are different depending on what club they are in. If you make a reservation in Hawaii for a 2 bedroom oceanfront at Kauai Beach Resort, for example, is 5,500 for a 2 bedroom unit X .31 per point = $1,705 for a full week. If that was your 7th reservation for that use year, you would pay $201 for the housekeeping fee for that week. Still a bargain for an oceanfront 2 bedroom on Kauai, and it's really a beautiful place. It's by the Coconut Marketplace.

If you book units that are full weeks, you would rarely have to pay housekeeping fees. This is the same for a lot of resorts that have housekeeping fees, like WorldMark, if you book short stays, you would pay housekeeping for additional stays. Same with Wyndham as well.

I felt like I did provide information in detail, way too much, actually. We are just divesting of many of our timeshares that don't fit our current vacation lifestyle.

What specifically do you want to know because if you have questions, I have answers. We have owned these points for many years.

Bumping this.

Fees for 2025 are .33 per point. 25,300 X .33 = $8,349. Payments are monthly with a credit card or checking account withdrawal. You get two transaction fees each year, $17.50 each after the first two. This fee covers cancellations, confirmations, etc., and it's not per transaction, it's as many as you make in one day. I book several two bedrooms for spring break and Christmas season weeks (busy times at Disneyland) and am able to rent these units, but not for a huge profit over MF's.

You also get six housekeeping included per year. Additional housekeeping are billed to the guest who checks into the resort, not paid at the time of booking, as WorldMark and Wyndham tend to do.

Just as an example, if you book a few units at the Hawaii resorts, which are higher in points, combined with the larger units at Peacock Suites, you may never have to pay additional housekeeping fees. But if you book 1 bedrooms at Peacock Suites, eventually you or a guest will have to pay those housekeeping fees.

You can book Peacock Suites in a 2 bedroom for 3,900 points for high season, lower season, 2,850 points.

1733672710638.png

Door County is now available with Shell. I see quite a few dates available and can book up to 11 months. Summer is quite high in points for the big penthouse units, but even July is available for a full week: 8650 points, $2,854.50 total cost. Smaller units and off-season weeks are more reasonable. I am honest.

Vino Bello is great as well. Lots of available weeks.

I still have half of my Shell points left, if anyone wants to take them. These are free, we pay the transfer fees.

Usage would start in 2026. Use year begins 3/1. A new owner could start making reservations now for 2026 after 3/1. If you have questions on availability on any particular resort, just click on my username.

I may deed these back at the beginning of 2026. I think Wyndham will take them back, as they would like to have them in their system.

Still available. This is a great entry into timeshare, an easy system to learn and resorts are mostly in the West and Hawaii. The points we own are in the West Club, and that club will also get you Door County, Wisconsin during prime seasons of spring, summer and fall. You can get two weeks at Little Sweden with this ownership.

You can also stay in Anaheim at Peacock Suites, and the two bedrooms are maximum of 3,900 per week, and those are very nicely sized.

These are managed by Wyndham.

I can reserve something for you for 2026. Summer is sitting online for the taking.

There are lots of resorts in San Francisco as well, including Suites at Fisherman's Wharf, our personal favorite.
