Nice day at Vista Encantada. I'm going to miss this deck.

Bill, are you staying in a 4BR? Your photos look just like the balcony we had last October at VE. We had the 4BR at the end of the hall on the same floor as check-in. We have a 3BR this year and I wonder how it compares?

We had a three bed unit for two weeks at Vista. Planning on leaving Hacienda for our third week a bit early due to a cactus.

Our three bed Vista Encantada room was located one room in from the west side of the sixth floor. It has two master suites with king beds and a third bedroom with two queen beds. Our group included four adults and five different adult kids showing up throughout the two weeks. One master bedroom has a private deck.

I see why you like this place Pam. This is now one of my favorite resorts. I liked it better than the Grand Luxxe.

Thanks, @easyrider. You’re leaving early due to a cactus? I hope not health-related!

Our stay last October was interrupted by Hurricane Norma, so the resort was understandably in clean up mode and services were a bit off kilter. We’re looking forward to trying it again, hopefully without another storm crashing THIS family gathering!

Do all rooms here have plunge pools? or just the 4 bdrm units?

Looks great. Decisions decisions. I have an ongoing search for 2025 for Grand Solmar Land's End but a 2 BR Vista is available for our anniversary next year. I like to be able to walk into town but know I'll need a car/Uber from here. Should I take the plunge or hold out?

I would take Grand Solmar if I could get it without AI. From Grand Solmar you are so close to many restaurants. I like watching sunset better than sunrise is another reason. With all of the people we had going to Cabo I bet our AI would have been $1200+ a day or about $15,000 for the two weeks.

Vista Encantada is pretty nice and was AI non-mandatory. There is one restaurant near the pool with a great view and fantastic food. If you have a car you can valet park at Fiesta Marina Resort. You would need to take a golf cart to the resort gate to leave using Uber but Uber can bring you all the way back. Taxi's can come and go.

I'll hold out for Grand Solmar. AI is not mandatory there. We did the meal plan one time for 3 days and ate in town the rest of the time. The restaurants are pretty good at GS but too many great places to go in the Los Cabos area.

So Uber is relatively easy? We usually rent a car but the prices are super high for late December (especially with the hidden supplemental liability fee trap the rental car companies like to sandbag tourists with at the counter.

Yup, Uber is easy in Cabo. There are a couple of hiccups with Uber in Cabo which are they can't pick you up at the airport but they can drop you off. Some resorts are the same.

If you rent the car from a third party website you will be forced to buy the liability insurance at the very least for the car rental because they can't verify the third party insurance even if you bring them a copy. In Mexico, you need to rent the car from the car rentals website and read the terms and conditions. Usually, the basic liability is included in the rate and a decent credit card will cover the car for damage or theft. American Express has an enhanced rental car protection if you use their card and enroll in the program.

So if you are leaving to go to airport from VE you can indeed use UBER but you will need to get your bags and have an employee take you all to front gate with bags and drop you there?

As luck would have it. . . I was noodling around this morning and noticed my deposited unit was gone. I checked into my history and exchange and BAM! Matched a 1 BR Grand Solmar in March. I have Eplus but probably will stick with this one as that is prime season.

One of my favorite views from the deck in Mexico - Sirena del Mar in Cabo last December - large one bedroom villa in Building 3 (3302A), where we could see dozens of whales spouting from our balcony, the sunset, and the waves roll in and crash against the rocks.
