anyone have the phone number to inquire if Marriott would consider a buy back?
TIA

If you have an ocean front Maui week, they may buy back, otherwise they will take back for $0. They can also broker a sale of your deeded weeks through their sale of hybrid packages. But they don't take all weeks and resorts. They don't do buy back of points but you can surrender to them if they are fully paid off.

I believe you own at Aruba Ocean Club. What season/view do you own? Some units have decent value.

You can email resale operations directly from the website, that should get the process started and you can see what you're up against. Often it's for free to them and you pay the next years fees. The week should have value though not a lot. You would not likely get the asking prices quoted on redweeks but should be something if you sell. You might post on redweeks once you have better parameters to know how to price it.

My folks were offered $10, yup ten whole dollars, for a Grande Ocean platinum week! They (my folks) then offered it to me which I gladly and gratefully accepted. Hmm, I think I still owe them $10...
Great but slow down there may be more. If it was qualified for enrollment in the points program, you should have your parents enroll it for free and then transfer it to you. You aren't required to pay any extra in maintenance fees for this enrolled week and you would be adding a measure of flexibility under the points program. The first question is whether the week was acquired before mid 2010 by your parents?

GOLD SEASON/OCEANVIEW
If you have Aruba - both resorts have very decent resale value. Check out the Aruba Owners group on FB and there are folks who are are buying both Surf Club and Ocean Club. Worst case, put it on Redweek. Also, since it is a RTU, the transfer is easily done.

As my post linked by Fastrr says, when I acquired it the week was already enrolled. My parents purchased this week in the 1990's. As it was a gift from them I was able to enroll it, no extra cost, upon its ownership being transferred to me.
