The most recent review mentioned the 1 bedroom at phase 1 had 2 bathrooms. Is this the case for all the units? Anyone have any thoughts between phase 1 vs 2? We'd def prefer 2 bathrooms if we can get it vs having better views.

I can't say for 100% of the units. But this is the timeshare closest to me. When relatives visit, I like to put them here so they are just down the road. I can get there in a few minutes (bending the speed limit).

I don't recall any unit which didn't have a full bath off the bedroom and a half-bath off the kitchen. I always trade for 1bd because it chews up fewer of my points.

Most of the units I've traded for had a garden view, which isn't all that great. The other advantage is that this is easy walking distance to a KTA supermarket, a decent pub, a Long's Drugs, the Kona fish dude, and a decent beach. Stay here, and you don't need a car unless you want to go exploring. Most of my relatives skip the rental car entirely.

It's super weird, I called the resort and specifically asked "Do the one bedrooms in phase 1 have 2 bathrooms?" and she said, "Phase 1? No, they only have 1 bathroom." And I pressed a little further and said I saw reports online that they had 2, a full and a 3/4 bath. She still said just one. There are several trip advisor reviews that mention 2 bathrooms. I also clicked through wyndham website and found the floorplans under "view suite details" and there are TWO bathrooms shown on the diagram! https://clubwyndham.wyndhamdestinat...-america/hawaii/kailua-kona/kona-coast-resort

So I don't know what to think. I ended up sticking with the phase 1 unit because the dates work better. I would love to know if there are certain units I could request with 2 bathrooms in advance. I have 2 teens that love to take long "princess showers" as well like to call them.

I'm excited about the location. We went to big island 7 years ago and stayed at kingsland and hated being so far from everything. We don't mind driving, but we've visited all 4 islands and realized we like staying in the local areas than in the big tourist resort spots.

You'll be roughly eight miles away from me.

I've booked this place six times. One time, three units the same week. They all had the half-bath/full-bath thing. That doesn't mean all of them do, of course.

Most afternoons, at the stoplight right at the resort and the entrance to KTA/Long's Drugs, there will be a dude (sometimes a dudette -- I believe the dude's daughter) selling ahi/mahi/shrimp out of the back of a pickup truck. Buy fish from him (or her) and grill it at the resort barbecue. He takes credit cards and the fish is absolutely superlative. And best price on the island -- unless one of your friends catches more than he or she can eat and gives you fish for free.

Fish dude -- don't leave the island without trying it.

I don't know why those floorplans show two bathrooms. Shell says only one bathroom, but it looks like there are two toilets and definitely another shower and vanity. What a mystery! Phase 1 seems to be bigger units.
