Choosing between the three Hyatt timeshares in Key West

Hi,
If you had to pick which Hyatt (Sunset Harbor, Windward Point or Beach House) in Key West to rent from what would you pick? I was leaning towards Sunset Harbor due to its proximity to town but the other two look great as well. Wanted to know if the other two offered a shuttle to town or no? TIA!

Key West native here. Sunset Harbor, hands down.

No, there is no shuttle to town. I lived there for years and never wanted a car -- a bicycle is the only mode of transportation which makes any sense in Key West. There is no parking. And everything you want to see is within easy walking distance.

The ride/walk along South Roosevelt near Windware Pointe is pleasant. And there's an area near the Beach House where I used to fish for snapper as a boy. All three of them are fine as a serious upgrade to Key West hotels. But only Sunset Harbor has that Old Town location. (The Banyan and the Galleon are also fine timeshares in Old Town.)

Thank you! So one additional question. I have also looked at the Galleon which may be our first choice since it looks to be a Saturday to Saturday rental if one becomes available...but my question is if you had to pick would you pick the Galleon or the Sunset Harbor? Thank you!

Sorry, one more question. Is there a beach nearby Sunset Harbor / Galleon?

Yes. But it's Simonton Beach -- the worst beach in town. The best beach in town is close to Windward Point -- easy walking distance to Smathers. But don't get your hopes up. The beaches don't compare to Pensacola or Daytona. They never did. There used to be great snorkeling anywhere around the island. But those days have passed, too.

lt looks like you may be considering Key West locations other than Hyatt. With that said, do consider Coconut Beach (which is about four blocks from the 90 mile marker to Cuba). They do have beach front as well as a pool.

Another location about a block from Duval Street is The Banyan. The Banyan is in old town and you can walk to everything. Every unit there is a bit different. They don't have beach front but they do have two pools. Very reasonable rental rates compared to some others.

.

Sunset but depending on what your preferences are. If you want to walk a block or two to be on the Duval street scene, loop, and quiet by the pool, the smaller Sunset is the choice. Galleon, it's also a good spot for the same reasons, and (which may be a negative) has a public bar and music, and more people.

This was a great question, we are exploring a Timeshare resale and are struggling on the best location also! Other than the popular January - April, are there any weeks that may be fun? We usually come in for FF in October.

Define fun? Songwriters, Goombay, Conch republic days, off shore races,...just about evey week.

Since the island is so small, there really is no "best location."

Well, there is -- living there in a Conch House. That's the best location. But tourists will never experience that. I always said "Key West is a great place to live. But I wouldn't want to visit there." (Well, it was. Until they ran the island into the ground in the name of mass tourism.) That's why I'm moving to Hawaii.
Banyan? Galleon? Hyatt? Doesn't really matter. All of them are an improvement on hotels.

I've owned at Beach House for 25 years and never once stayed there. It's worked out great for me and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to buy a timeshare just for trading. And even for someone buying in KW to trade to KW, the only thing which matters is the ease of getting a trade. In that respect, they're all pretty good.

True, the Chamber does a great job, TY
