Best Restaurants in Myrtle Beach, SC

Can’t really help with restaurant recommendations (Myrtle Beach is just so busy and we don’t venture there often) but I would recommend a stop at a grocery store and visit the free magazines rack…the ones with homes for sale booklets and in this area there is also a thick Myrtle Beach visitors booklet…a ton of coupons and attractions etc. I know there are a number of those big all you can eat places, but have never tried and not sure what’s open off season. There is a Costco right off 17, closer to the airport, same parking lot as Home Depot. Two dozen white eggs for $6.49, limit 2 packs. Brown was $8.69 or so.

Looking for seafood? Head up to Calabash. Find the place called Callahans of Calabash and turn down that road heading to the water.
Informal lunch? Try the Calabash Seafood Hut. There are a few other places along that road too.

This is my favorite in Myrtle Beach, hands down. Walkable from Ocean Watch. Not tourist-focused. Filled with locals, amazing food, often live music. The "kid's" menu is just smaller portions of every entree on the menu (with the exception of the osso buco.) Family-owned. Italian, but often incorporates fresh, local seafood. It's one of my daughter's favorite restaurants, period:

Strange menu prices. I do not liked you must ask for prices. We will be at OceanWatch in February.
Is this restaurant located near Hook and Barrel?

What are the best restaurants in Myrtle Beach, in February?
Bar Louis has a good happy hour and on Tuesday their craft burgers are half off. We like the one with the fried egg. Bring some crackers to feed the fish in Murrel’s Inlet. It’s a hoot.

i Guess it really depends on what you are looking for. Sea Captains House is still very good but covid changed everyone. We have learned to be far more forgiving since covid entered our lives. Joes Bar and Grill has an excellent menu. Many good restaurants at Barefoot Landing also such as the Flying Fish, Taco Mundo, Greg Normans, Crooked Hammock Brewery, etc, etc. When you get away from Oceanwatch you can find many very good restaurants. Just pick a spot anywhere from Murrells Inlet to Calabash and you will find good food. No more than 30 minutes from the resort. We’ve owned in NMB for a little over two years now and like to try something new every time we get a chance.

We have not been to The Sea Captain's House in ten (10) years. Have the Covid pandemics changed the service and food?

Haven’t been since COVID. We have had excellent meals and not so great ones there. Our service was always good.

Low brow, low ambiance, good food. Bimini's Oyster Bar on Lake Arrowhead, close to US 17. Very convenient if you are staying at Wyndham SeaWatch.

Still very good, as of last year. Still my favorite. Bimini's was pretty good, too.

Thank you for your service.

Also like Hoskins in NMB. In the past loved Chestnut Hill, it's probably still very good, but haven't been there in 10 or 15 years.

Fire and Smoke Gastropub - pricey but really good - award winning chef and food.

Calabash has always been the place to go for seafood in the Myrtle Beach area.

Thanks for the great recommendations. I liked seafood and Mediterranean dinners. There were some outstanding seafood restaurants on Murrells Island years ago.

One of my favourite restaurants in MB is Hot Tomato at 406 21st Avenue North, a block from Ocean Blvd North. Great food, well-prepared, with an Italian/seafood focus. I last ate there in November, and the service was fabulous, as always. My wife loved it, too, when we visited MB in the past. It was also very convenient for us when staying at our timeshare around the corner at Ocean 22, since it was easy to walk there. Reservations are recommended.

We also love Wicked Tuna in Murrells Inlet. I noticed in November that they now have a location in MB as well, but have not checked it out yet.

Gio’s Italian Kitchen

Excellent food. i had the seafood risotto that was one of the specials offered, very good. Lobster ravioli was also very good. Generous portion sizes. Great service. Reasonable prices especially considering the portion sizes. Most of the group is very particular about their restaurants (they obviously go out more than us).

This place is also recommended by the same group, although they haven’t been there recently:

Thanks, you very much.

Which Myrtle Beach restaurant`s did you and your family select
enjoy and like the best during your Ocean Watch Rresort stay ?

Hooks and Barrels was our favorite restaurant.
Hoskins was our next favorite for seafood dinners.
The Sea Captain House, where we enjoyed breakfast with a table that had an ocean view,

We purchased some crab / lobsters crackers at Mr. Fish. We also purchased lobsters claws from Costco along with our liquor run. LOL

We were in the Star Fish Building 3155 for two (2) weeks ocean front .
