In past years there has been a thread for people to share favorite year-end musical treats. I thought I might kick it off for this year. Here is one of my favorites - a Jubilant Sykes live performance of "Mary, Did You Know".

It was hard to pick one. This entire album is good. A lot of original Christmas songs and they wrote several. It doesn’t disappoint.

Dean Martin is one of my all-time favorites. I love his velvety smooth voice. White Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas songs. So, it doesn’t get much better than Dean Martin singing White Christmas for me. Apparently, Irving Berlin thought so, too. This version has a nice little lede.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year -- Andy Williams
Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer - Elmo & Patsy

Not used to seeing Dino without his glass of "tea"

Yeah. Imagine how good he could have been if he hadn’t been a drunk. ;)

I know he had that reputation. I don’t know how much of it was truth and how much was PR. Regardless, he’s one of my favorite vocalists. For that genre, I like Dino better than Sinatra. Yes, I realize I’m probably in the minority on that one.

I'm in agreement with you. Dino over Sinatra. So, I guess I am in the minority also.
BTW, I believe it was all PR.

My new favorite is this song released by Girl Named Tom on their new Christmas Album - they were last season's winners of The Voice. This is a brother and sister group, and they dedicated this song to their dad, who recently died from cancer:

The Isaacs - Oh Tidings of Comfort and Joy

The Offspring - Bells Will Be Ringing

Also from The Offspring - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)

A new one for us this year! Lol

Several years ago, I was listening to SiriusXM's Symphony Hall, and this medley came on. I immediately bought the CD! The chorus is from the University of Indiana. This medley is sung by a kid's chorus from School for Creative & Performing Arts in Cincinnati. Switching over to Keith Lockhart and the world famous Boston Pops Orchestra and Tanglewood Chorus, this is a popular Ukrainian carol. Crossing the ocean, the Nigerian carol Betelehemu by the Tabernacle Choir @ Temple Square (formerly known as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir). And going back to the Baroque, Antonio Vivaldi wrote an oratorio called Gloria, and this is the first movement (not many words)!

Joy To the World - Julie Andrews (a classic)

Oh Come All Ye Faithful -- Pavarotti and...
The one with Vanessa Williams on SNL was great. [link not available]
But this version with Trisha Yearwood was pretty good.
