For those who may be looking for the cheapest MVCI Points or an enrolled week.

There are not very many, but, Playa Andaluza Silver Sea Front 2BR $13,100 direct from Marriott, enrolled. Worth 2,750 destinations points, or $4.76 per point which I think is pretty hard to beat thesde days, that's as cheap as my resale points purchase. There's only 6 Sea Front Units (or about, I think that's what I recall). MF just over $1,200/Year. Counts as a red season trader in II.

Anyway, not heard of one this cheap lately so thought I might throw it out there in case anyone can snatch one up if they are looking for a decent trader or points. I believe there is only 1 currently for sale.

I should also point out MF is about 45 cents per pt too, cheaper than straight points. Though subject to currency changes either direction.

I believe there may be only 5x 2 Bed Sea Front units, with 14x 3 Bed Sea Front (which we own).

I also own a 3BR seafront at Playa, imho it hits all the right spots - lock-off, low MF (relatively), generous point allocation, good II trader and guaranteed views when using the week.

Steve, did you end up buying a week during your stay?

Thanks for the exact number, I had thought he said 5 but sounded odd. :)

Xpat - yes I did, I wanted to reach presidential for various reasons. Don't know of a cheaper way.

So, there was 2 of those, I took one leaving one.

Congrats on reaching Presidential. I bought last year while at Playa Andaluza for the same reason - it was my first "developer" purchase after many resale purchases, and I still feel it was a good move.

Are you able to enroll any post 2010 weeks with the purchase? ....Probably not, that would make it too good to be true!

I did not have any, but have asked.

If the same as last year it could be used to enroll European or Phuket external resale weeks only. No ability to enroll US weeks.

This was a great offer but it was not available two weeks ago when I was in Spain.

Must have been a lucky day! Before the offer, he had asked me what I paid for my points, I told him just over $4, true. Maybe that helped, maybe it did not. Could be blind luck.

All of the 'enrol legacy weeks' deals restarted last Monday only I think.

So, you can not enroll a week with the Spain purchase. I am told last summers deal was a one off. However, I am told this is being discussed and may happen one more time soon. If I hear anything, will post back.

I'm told (albeit second-hand) that the option to enroll a week when purchasing a playa andaluzia 2 bed platinum is indeed happening as we speak.

Could be, but it was not available as of the time I posted it. First hand info as I was there, though I suppose the Andaluza sales center could have been wrong. These things change week by week. Whether or not that is worth it depends on the price they are offering too. Could be good if true. Keep in mind there are reports of MF shortfalls at Andaluza. So, the MF could be changing or a special assessment coming.

Note my response was to a question about my silver sea front purchase, and you could not enroll a week with it.

We own two Marbella weeks and were able to enroll in points at no cost. Did that about 8 weeks ago.

What were the terms of your deal? I am looking to buy a week or two in Spain and enroll my Ko Olina week. My Ko Olina week is worth 2450 per year so I need either 550 points to get to presidential or 5550 points to get to Chairman.

If you don't mind passing on the info, what sort of price tag did this 3 bed have, what season?

We just have a Silver week at Playa (a 3 Bed Lock Off Sea Front) for Winter escapes bought way back when the resort first opened.
I honestly can’t remember the price tag, although I will try to look it up, but doubtless it was very expensive then before we discovered TUG and Resale.

look at the original post. He shows what he paid in 2018.

That was Steve for a silver, I was asking Xpat as he purchased a gold.

I paid $5.29 per point when I purchased in Spain. I also got 7,000 bonus points

Right now, Europe is still behind the US when it comes to re-opening from lockdowns. So I think 'pandemic pricing deals' are still possible

When you attain higher status with MVC, do you get any benefits beyond what is stated in the benefits charts?

i.e. is your status recognized at check in? Are you given upgrades or welcome gifts?

I am not sure if there is an updated version of this chart, but officially all that you are eligible for are the associated Bonvoy benefits.
However, some resorts may offer additional MVC Owner level benefits - a bottle of wine, a food platter… but no guarantees.
Upgrades are certainly never declared, but there seems to be some consensus that Owner level can help with villa allocation, although only within your booked view designation.

It doesn't sound like a lot, given what you've invested...

I have been recognized at timeshares due to my status in MVC. They always call or email me and ask me for my preferences and recognize my status. I always get my preferences. Maybe this happens to everyone regardless of status in MVC. Getting a room preference and getting a longer banking time are the only things I care about that is on the chart. The extra 30% off DPs if booked within 60 days is nice in theory. I used that on this trip to add on a couple days in Ko Olina. That was great but usually getting a room at 60 days is a bit challenging.

What else besides what is on the chart do you think MVC should offer for the bigger investment? I think they need to enhance Chairman level benefits since they are too close to Presidential. Other than that, not sure what else the should do.
