A group of 15 women - friends and family members - heading to Las Vegas in March. We'd like to do one "nice" dinner that wouldn't break the bank - any suggestions?

First time to Las Vegas? What is toooo expensive? Per person budget?

First time for most. I've been there before but am usually not into upscale dining, and hubby likes to eat so we did mostly buffets on our trip. We will probably do one buffet for the experience, but for the "nice" dinner would not want to pay $50 for a grilled chicken breast ala carte for example :) There will be a few younger women with us and budget is a concern for them too - my guess is most would be comfortable with a range of $30 to $40 for a complete meal, not including drinks or desserts. Thanks for any info!

One of our favorite places to go is The Steakhouse at Circus Circus - the prices range from $28 - $45
As Always Dinner Includes Fresh Baked Breads, Chef's Vegetables And Your Choice Of Black Bean Soup Or House Salad, Garlic Mashed Potato, Baked Potato Or Side Pilaf
It is an true steakhouse with the red leather banquettes. I don't think we have ever had room for dessert after a meal there.

Our favorite buffet is at Bacchanal at Caesars Palace. It is not cheap but they serve top quality food and the spread... oh my. You can even make the nice dinner as Bacchanal buffet.

Slightly off strip is a “sort of locals” Italian restaurant called The Bootlegger. Good Italian, nice atmosphere and moderate prices.
There is also a Landry’s family of restaurants Italian called Treve in the Forum Shops at Ceasers Palace.
The Chart House, also a Laundry’s restaurant, in the Golden Nugget is nice and moderately priced.
All of these will require a reservation.

With a group of 15, you probably should have a reservation for someplace with event rooms. Or possibly a buffet would be better able to accommodate your group, and the variety of foods would satisfy people who have individual tastes.

Hence my recommendation of Bacchanal Buffet. Come hungry, leave happy. :)

The top of the stratosphere or the top of binions both have very good upscale dining. 40 to 60$

I came in to recommend the Bootlegger. The atmosphere is very fun.

I also want to add Nora's Italian. Not cheap but compares favorably to Strip prices.

I haven't been to either, but according to the internet, Top of Binions is closed and Top of the World menu at Stratosphere is pretty pricey.
Top of the World IS on the pricey side, and I'm a little opposed to paying for a menu price that is there for the views rather than the food quality.

I will second Bootleggers. Good food and a really nice atmosphere.

$30-$40 for a complete meal, I finally just read....have you considered IHoP?

I haven't heard of the Bootlegger but the menu looks pretty good. We will definitely try it in the next couple of months.

South Pointe resort and and casino has some nice restaurants that might fit your needs as well. We’ve had several nice meals at Primarily Prime. There’s also a nice steakhouse, Italian and Mexican restaurant. All serve complete dinners instead of al a carte.

Not sure where you are staying, but I recommend considering Canaletto located in the shops at The Venetian. It is an Italian restaurant located in the St. Mark’s Square section of the resort. They have a indoor courtyard that has the feeling of being outdoors in St. Mark’s Square in Venice. They also have private dining rooms upstairs inside the restaurant. We were just there last night and always enjoy it.

Best regards.

Mike

We recently added Mon Ami Gabi to our "must do" list for our trips to Las Vegas. The restaurant is located at the base of the Eifel Tower at Paris.

I'll second the vote for Chart House at Golden Nugget. We went there last year and enjoyed the food, but the fixed price menu was a little pricey and the quantity was too much. I don't see it listed on the menu currently.

We like mon ami Gabi, but won't fit OPs budget.

We are currently in Vegas and have tried some places we haven't been before, and have our usual favorites. I will also say that the prices have gone up across the board for all dining, and pretty much everything. Here are some suggestions:
Italian: Bootleggers or Brio (did lunch at Brio)
Cajun: Lolas in Summerlin, will have live piano player Fri and Sat nights
Steak: Golden Steer (pricey), or Twin Creeks at the Silverton
Including some buffet reviews
Bacchanal at Ceasars- we did it for dinner and paid $80pp to be underwhelmed
Rampart- did a Sunday brunch and it was very good $30pp
South Point- Hands down winner for brunch or dinner for both quality and price
For entertainment + food, Marriage Can be Murder dinner show. Food is OK, show is hilarious and audience participates. We have done this 4 or 5 times, they change the script about twice a year. This is our Valentines dinner plan.
For brunch RuPauls Drag Brunch, my daughter was here with us last week for a girls trip with her friends. They went and had a good time, they paid somewhere around $90pp.

Concerning Marriage Can Be Murder.
Our experience was great audience participation show, horrible food. We ended up at McDonalds after the show

Not sure how long ago you were there. We had a neighbor who ran a small stand selling jewelry at that location and highly recommended The Steakhouse to us, telling us that steaks were only $28. We went there to dine based on her recommendation and steaks were like $70-$80. Ouch.
