I have an exchange to MonteCristo Estates for next year through ThirdHome, so I think it will be considered an owner stay. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any owner benefits when staying there. I read somewhere that there is a pool for MonteCristo Estates. That seemed odd because the villas each have their own pool. Anyone know if the MOnteCristo Estates has its own restaurant/spa/gym facility? Also, do the homes have a place to park a car? We usually rent a car when we go to Cabo. It's so easy to drive there, and then we don't have to worry about shuttles to / from the airport. We also love going tio San Jose Del Cabo for the Artwalk on Thursday evening, which we definitely cannot do without a car. Thanks in advance for any info!

You might try @whitewater. He gave one of those away a couple of years ago in this thread. He's the one that posted about it most recently; I believe he still has an ownership there.

Question:
"We have reservations there for unit 17 and unit 102 for the week before Xmas 2022. (Through an exchange via Thirdhome) 17 is at the very top of the hill in Phase 1, and 102 is near the gate in Phase 2. I was wondering if you know if there are any differences between the phase 1 and phase 2 units and whether the views are any different from the very top of the hill versus near the bottom of the hill in phase 2. I imagine all units probably have great views. We are planning to rent a car, so getting around shouldn't be an issue. Is there a parking area near the Montecristo pool, or do you have to walk there?
Thank you in advance for any answers!
all the best,"

Answer:
I'm not a expert by any stretch. Happy to share what little I know.

Units are basically the same. some windows are present in phase 1 that are not there in phase 2. These are high or face other buildings and have little to know impact other than letting in some light. Also phase 1 units have two double doors that open the master suit soaking tub to the courtyard fountain.

That said I think you will be hard pressed to find any two units that are identical in the entire development. We have stayed multiple times and each time in different units (we float our week) and each is unique and amazing. Have not had a bad one yet.

I run up to the top a lot and the view is spectacular. I prefer phase 2 because you can walk to the market vs. having to ride the shuttle.

That time of year however I'd take what I could get and enjoy the time. Its amazing. Enjoy your trip!

ps. others can and will likely have some additional views so opening this up to others and for future benefit.

each unit has its own pool, hot tub, dedicated parking.

Montecristo has its own clubhouse with public pool, gym, spa (I prefer sunset spa - because it has a cold plunge pool). Both are nice. MCE spa is less utilized in my experience.

You can use any spa in the pueblo bonito area (pacifica, sunset, montecristo, blanco/Rose) There is a free shuttle from sunset to rose/blanco where you can walk to town or swim at the beach. Beach at sunset is NOT swimmable (people die each year trying).

Check out sunday brunch, selection and food is amazing and you will not want to miss it. Units have a a butler who will make your stay unique and personalized. use their service and you'll be spoiled.
