Stayed 4 nights at Elara last week on a combo work/fun trip. Vegas was very busy with the SEMA show going on, along with PBR finals and the usual Vegas events. Weather was perfect the entire stay, around 80 with light wind.

I was very impressed with the property. Booked a 1 BR Grand Plus, was upgraded to Premier (56th/top floor) with recently updated furnishings. Spectacular view to the North of the Eiffel Tower, High Roller and the strip. The room was like a very upscale penthouse apartment. Nice furniture and fixtures, , comfortable bed, jetted tub(didn’t use), and spacious restroom. Great shower with plenty of hot water. Didn’t watch much TV, but they were nice. The projector screen TV on the living room shades had outstanding picture quality when I watched a football game. Fantastic kitchen and I used the breakfast bar to set up my laptop when needed for business with plenty of room to work and enjoy the view.
Free self parking with validated card usable for your entire stay in the Miracle Mile shops parking garage which was convenient. Easy walk through the mall to get to the strip or Planet Hollywood.
And the text # they gave us at check in to use if we needed anything or had questions was responded to quickly and efficiently.
5/5 stars for my review of the resort.

—Owners update: I’m a resale owner of less than a year (Paradise platinum contract) and had not attended a HGVC update yet. Knew what to expect based on the great info here and in the FB groups. When they called before my stay with the pitch, I advised them I was on a tight schedule during the days, and had limited availability. Used my hesitation to get the initial offer raised up to
a $250 maintenance fee credit, and emphasized and confirmed I had exactly ONE hour, and had to be at a meeting 30 minutes away at a specific time (which was true). Arrived at the reception area at the scheduled time of 11:15 and politely reminded the lady that I had to leave at 12:15. I had my phone alarm already set, fully expecting to use it to end the presentation.
They were running behind, and at 11:25, I again nicely reminded the lady that checked me in I had to leave at 12:15. What happened next shocked me. A polite gentleman came in, introduced himself, and told me he’d make sure I was on my way in time. We got on the elevator, and after making some small talk, we exited the elevator and I expected the update to begin. Instead, he thanked me for my time and took me directly to the sign out area to have my $250 credited. So no update, no pressure, and I was out of there at 11:30. My guess is they were short staffed on salespeople, and just needed me as a # for their quota. I obviously know this was an exception and not the rule, but I’ll give up 15 minutes of of my time with no pressure for $250 anytime they want :).

Will definitely stay there again when in Vegas.

wow, how lucky. You should comeback for another great stay:)

Wow, I am surprised that they are still giving the $250 MF credit. This is my minimum before I will attend. Thanks for the update.

Sounds like great luck to be released so quickly. We were offered the $250 MF credit or $350 for Elevated Rewards Restaurant certs in NYC . We opted for the $350 since there are a few restaurants on the list we like and NYC is expensive. We still have certs remaining for our next stay.

At my update in NYC in October I opted for the $250 maintenance fee credit. I was disappointed at the low number of the Elevated Rewards participants compared to pre-Covid. Hopefully that will improve. Some people were taking the 100,000 HHonors points, which does not seem worth it.

With valuation of .5 cents per point, 100,000 HH points would be a $500 value. Having several offers are on the table provides a little something for everyone.

Do the Hawaii resorts offer the owner's updates? We've stayed at Kohala and BC several times, but never as owners. The next trip to HI will be our first as owners.

Just returned from the Elara also. We used a three night stay for $99 offer we received a while ago. Had a one bedroom room on the tenth floor, so not a great view. The room was amazing and the bathroom had two sinks which was great for two people getting ready at the same time. The presentation was typical and took 1.5 hours. We have been doing this for almost ten years and worked our way up to Elite Plus on three contracts. It took us eight deals to get here. We are always trying to learn about the program and just found this group. Learning more here! We were told that next year HGVC will stop trading in contracts for bigger ones. But we were also told if we work with this hot shot salesman going forward he could get around that? Hopefully there is a thread on that issue. We received 50,000 Hilton Honors points after the presentation on top of the three nights stay deal. We are not ready to buy more now but did buy the $1695.00 freeze prices for 18 months / 7200 points deal. We have done that in the past and is probably why we get offers to stay all the time. We did stay a fourth night at the new Resorts World Conrad. Spent 180,000 Hilton Honors points for one night in a single King bed room on the 50th floor overlooking the strip. The Elara was better!

I’ve heard Resorts World is not that impressive.
I need to go back to Vegas for business again in December. Elara is currently booked solid, so will be staying at Boulevard. Will be interesting to see if they try to get me to do another update. I doubt it since I just had one.

Sounds like typical salesperson line, “you better buy now, because ……”. I wouldn’t believe a word of it coming from a salesperson with any reason to buy now.

We enjoyed Resorts World when we were there in August. The Casino is spread out and it doesn’t feel that crowded. We didn’t stay there or do anything other than gamble and walk around a bit.

I suspect with a hard stop, they knew there was no chance of a sale. They can't even draw up all the paperwork and get all the disclosures and signatures signed in enough time.

I don't want people to think it wasn't nice, but compared to the condo like feel you get at Elara, I wasn't as good. It proves the point that even super high end hotel rooms are not as good as the time share experience. Oh boy, I sound like a salesman!

I also just came back from Elara for a quick 3 night stay. They were very persistent in wanting me to attend a owners update. i.e. I got a phone message on my home phone asking me to call them up prior to arriving in LV, I had a phone message at check in, and also received a letter under the door welcoming and asking to give them a call. However, since this was a whirlwind 3 night stay, I had no time for games.

Was at the Elara over Halloween weekend and LV was very busy. Lots of characters. This was my third stay at the Elara, first was nearly 10 years ago and the wear on the property is visible. I had 1BD Studio (I’ve stayed in suites prior) and much was left to be desired. Owners update was a cluster. First time in many years, and did it for the $250 Maintenance Fee credit. They were pitching me to save money by “downgrading” to EOY with fewer points and less maintenance, but would cost additional $7K. They tried to convince me it was a 5 year payback (though if maintenance is EOY, isn’t it really 10 years). Maybe my current system sucks, but I save current, convert future and sometimes take a vacation with Hilton (usually use for last minute travel). Last, but worst, I was interrogated and pressed to defend why I originally purchased and why I did not agree the proposal was a money-saver. It was quite unpleasant. It will probably be another few years before I do another one.

Honestly, my "owner updates" (aka, "sales presentations") which I have stated many times that I don't attend (but I do for the right price which $250 MF credit would qualify) haven't been that bad. This is all due to what salesperson which you happen to draw. My suggestion is not to attend if you feel uncomfortable. You certainly don't want to ruin your vacation which is supposed to be relaxing.

Have not stayed at Elara but planning to do so. You mention free parking at Miracle Mile shops. Is there valet at the resort itself? IF so, how much does it cost? Some prior threads have described the Miracle Mile parking in less then favorable terms.

Does anyone have an update on parking while staying at Elara?
I think the Valet was $25 and self-parking was free, I couldn't use it.

I made the mistake of bringing a trailer to Las Vegas a couple of months ago. LV is becoming a racetrack, and the work is crazy and oversized parking was $25x2 as I had to unhitch. I should have just paid the Valet and a tip.

It's all connected to eh Shops and easy to park.

Parking is still free if you use the PH/Miracle Mile garage (Levels 3 and up - Level 3(?) has direct access to the Elara lobby). Very convenient, free parking on the Strip, even for hotel/casino guests, is becoming rarer each year. Valet at the Elara front door is still around $30, no exceptions.

We are going in a couple of weeks, staying at Elara and going to NYNY for a Cirque show. No car, but I do expect things to be "interesting" at best.

Cheers.

We really liked Micheal Jackson One Cirque Show. If you're into or even aware of the music. It's fun. We sat center in the 4th row at I think those might be the best seats, but everyone has a blast.

There are a few surprises, and I wouldn't read about, I'd just go.

It was fantastic. I plan to take guests next time.

From the Timeshare Selling Podcasts I listened to, they manipulate the Buyer with a line like, you asked questions. That's not part of our presentation.

Not sure that would fly with most of us, but there are a few people who recommend not talking about yourself and focusing in on what they are offering.

It might be good advice.

We've seen all the Cirque shows in Vegas except Mad Apple. MJ One was one we saw shortly after it came out. we're both about a year younger than MJ and knos his music very well. As well, approaching 2000 concerts in my life, music is very important to me, so this, and the Beatles Love were great shows. Still waiting on the Metallica Cirque.

But I'm also a New Yorker, so Mad Apple is important as well.

Cheers.

Cirque Beatles Love was great, and easily walkable from Elara. Underrated show and $/lbs probably the best Cirque show on the Strip.

Cirque "O" at Bellagio was also enjoyable. Not exactly sure what it was about but it was visually entertaining ("Little Nemo" vibes for those of you young enough to remember it) and we felt we got our money's worth. Also easily walkable from Elara - literally across the street.

I actually got 2 of them this year. One has been credited already. The other hopefully soon as I have that little receipt.
