I did not get a mailer but when I went into my Vistana II account I saw the offer.
5 free guest certificate per year and unit upgrade size fee $59 instead of $99. $50 off getaways. Hertz Gold Plus membership.
HTH someone.

I also got offered 50% off a ways back, and signed up for one year. I wish I would have taken 2, because my platinum is expired in August and there is no new offer waiting for me!

Every time I call Interval now, the call ends with "I see your platinum membership has expired, can I renew that for you today?".

Enjoy your benefits! :)

Honestly don’t think I ever had Platinum on this account. Usually they wait until 4 months after you expire to offer a deal.

That's interesting -- is this on the corporate account or your own personal II account? I don't see it on my Marriott account (where I could use it...) thanks for posting!

Best,

Greg

Edited: I do see it now -- thanks for highlighting this!

Corporate Vistana Account.

Hi, Can you tell me where you see the 50% offer at? I'm in my account and when I go to upgrade the platinum its the normal price

We are always receiving some type of offer, either though the mail or seeing it online to upgrade our Vistana corporate account for 1-2 years at 50% off. This would only be for new upgrades. Not renewals. I have never seen a 50% off a renewal of Gold or Platinum membership. The best renewal rates I have seen are 10% off during their Daily Deals many years ago. So if you are already a Platinum member, this offer is very likely not available to you.

I wonder if perhaps they only offer the 50% discount to account owners that previously paid for Platinum membership. That would make sense because since the person had experienced the benefits before, they would seem to be more likely to sign up again with an incentive.

My Platinum expired Feb 2021 and 4 months to the day after expiration the 50% discount appeared on my account, as others have stated here.

I have never had Platinum membership on our Vistana account and it sees the offer. The four months rule seems pretty consistent. Any purchase of Platinum membership within 4 months after expiration is seen as a renewal and discounts don't apply to most renewals. If you also purchase Gold or Platinum in that 4 month window, they will back date it to the expiration date, effectively giving you only 8 months to use it.

I upgraded last year with the discount simply because the cost of the upgrade was the same as the gift certificate I needed to use for a vacation for my daughter. Sadly I never got to use any of the other gift certificates/benefits and my renewal this year in June was back to 'normal' price. If there is a 4 month window before the offered discount returns then hopefully that will be soon and I'll look at the multi-year options.

I think you mean "guest certificate"? We always take the two year Platinum. One year doesn't go very far.

Did you ever have Gold membership? Perhaps they offer it once you've had any upgraded membership.

I have never upgraded the account. I don't use our Vistana II corp account because we always use StarOptions. I do have our Marriott II corp account upgraded though.

Anyone have a code for 2for on platinum good for MVC owners on personal account? I need to renew.

If you are renewing and not expired more than four months, there won't be any code that will provide a 50% or two for one discount. II doesn't give discounts on renewal. The only time I saw a renewal discount was many years ago as part of their Daily Deals promotion. That discount was only 10%. If you are a Marriott owner and more than four months expired, I suspect a 50% discount offer would show up automatically in your account.

Discount codes are targeted and account specific. II doesn't provide general discount codes that work for everyone. Your account has to qualify in order to take advantage of any codes.

Thanks for the info. I am expired on platinum but not 4 months expired. I am looking to make an exchange soon so I wanted to upgrade now to save on size upgrade fees. I guess I’ll wait for their offer.

Any upgrade now will also back date the renewal to your previous expiration date. So if you expired say on June 30th your new expiration would only be June 30, 2022. You effectively lose a bunch of months on your new Platinum membership. Oee would need to wait until after October 30 to renew. I think this whole four months expired requirement is crap.

Oh wow yea. In that case definitely I’ll wait.

Wow, that is brutal! I will have to wait until the end of the year so I don't lose any months.

My 50% offer was for 1 or 2 years, and I had only taken the year. I can see the offer is on my II account ("My History" button>"Rewards" tab) with a December 31st, 2022 expiry. I wonder if I will have to wait that long to get another offer? This was on my personal II account, I don't have corporate (was the offer the same as you were offered?).

My offer has an expiration of January 1, 2023. It was in a corporate II account. I think that expiration is just when the expiration of the promotion ended. Not really when your Platinum membership ends. I always take them up on the longest term possible with these offers. There is no guarantee they will provide these promos in the future and we do a lot of upgrades and buy a lot of getaways, so it pays for itself very fast.

I only had 2 weeks a year in II, so the math didn't really make sense, though I did want to try it out so took the offer. Good advice though, I will take the 2 years if it is offered again.

If I pass ROFR on a Marriott (hopefully soon), I will have more units to use, so it will be more worthwhile to go to platinum again. I always upgrade my 1 bedroom SDO units to two when I trade, but had no idea it was discounted with platinum. The 5 free guest certificates are great though, as I usually end up giving weeks to family members. For getaways, are you seeing better inventory with platinum (or do you just like the additional discount)?
