Do ads on Redweek City pages work better?

I have my rental on Redweek without much interest shown and wonder if it would be worth it to pay the higher weekly fee to list in on the upgraded city pages to target the specific area renters.
I am getting desperate to get this rented and am open to suggestions. I already reduced the price.
Thanks.

I hate too say it, but you may need to reduce more. The reason I suggest this is because personally I've had great success with Redweek, and I just do the most basic ad. It seems to me that they do get alot of traffic, so if you're not renting, it may be because it not priced right, or in an area with lots of rental options.

I've also used ebay with some success. I listed once with a reserve, so I didn't get low-balled, and it didn't work, then listed with starting bid of lowest I would possibly take, and it rented at $350 higher than that. So ebay may work, but you may have to be patience with it. Good luck.

Regards.
Joe

Joe, how much did it cost to list your rental on Ebay? There are a lot of TS rentals on Ebay and this would seem to be an effective tool.

I have rented this same unit for the past 3 years from redweek ads with lots of traffic but this year is not the same. I don't know if it is that less people are traveling this year or redweek traffic is slower this year. My price is already the lowest listed for my resort.

I am wondering if the City Page ad brings better results???

I tried listing a week for rent on Redweek also and got no response. Luckily SFX took it for exchange.

Best Success has been with Redweek

I have listed many timeshares over the years on both this web site classified and Redweek and have rented my units everytime with Redweek. I have probably rented over the years approximately 10-12 times and have been successful. I do believe it is very much an issue of price. No need to get greedy. Just be fair and it will rent.

I rented a studio unit for $1535, and paid about $42, plus, the same in paypal, so it wasn't as cheap as RW, but pretty close, when you consider RW is $20 for ad, and $20 for membership.

I didn't have to use paypal, but it was nice to hold the auction and have the money in your acct in a day or so. Also I sense that paypal does attract a few more bidders, because I think it gives them a sense of security to some degree.

Those numbers seem reasonable, and I think the Paypal fee is well worth it. Ebay can be a pretty treacherous place and Paypal puts a lot of people at ease. I've bought a lot of stuff on Ebay and am very hesitant to bid on much of anything where the seller will not accept Paypal. The other benefit is that you get your money immediately. My guess is you got well over $42 more for your TS week than you would have without Paypal.

We have had great luck renting our weeks on redweek but we do price them right. If your weeks are over priced they do not rent quickly I found. Doug

I had the same problem this year. Rentals are slower than usual for me. I had a week 7 for rent in Cancun and couldn't believe that it only rented this week. President's week is usually really hot and goes very quickly. I guess I wasn't the only one not getting a renter because there were several other ads who had dropped their rental rates about 500.00. Maybe people aren't traveling this year or they are waiting until the last minute. The other thing I'm wondering about.....could it be the cost airfare???
