Super Quick Rental

And gloating over the fact that some of us lost something we once had. I'm glad someone else sees things the same way I do.
You never "had" this as a benefit. It was a loophole abused by sales to sell more points. VIP owners renting also abused this loophole at the expense of owners looking to book for personal use. The loophole of using resale points with VIP benefits eventually will be eliminated also. Until then take what they are giving and don't complain or begrudge a owner that gloats when a loophole is closed to their benefit.

It's not all that hard to figure out way more than any of the salespeople now as well as the typical customer service rep at the call centers.

That's so true now. When you do find a salesperson who knows the system it isn't worth your time and aggravation to weed out what's true from the lies and twisted information. The call center reps used to be very knowledgeable but even the PR and owner care reps who should be the most knowledgeable are often woefully lacking now.

Without several wonderful reps and what I learned from the salespeople I would have struggled even more than I did. Yes I read the directory and took notes too but it wasn't until the website was available that it all really came together for me. Being able to see things for myself and play around with it made all the difference in the world for me. After finding TUG there were still a few more things I learned.

How many times has something like, “If the saleman’s lips are moving, it is a lie” been posted on TUG? Even Jan M.’s Hero had a sense of the situation waaay back in 2012

https://tugbbs.com/forums/threads/2...i-tried-to-cancel-rebook.181084/#post-1377247

It is amazing how many people were conned into believing cancel/rebook was any kind of VIP “benefit.” It was a loophole in the rules that sales people used to “upgreed” VIP owners. There was nothing in the rules allowing “VIP cancel/rebook.” When challenged on the loophole, defenders would always point to the pages in the directory that allow a 1) reservation to be cancelled and 2) a reservation to be booked. “Nothing against the rules,” said they.

2017 changed nothing about these rules, so no one lost a rule (or "VIP benefit") they had. A 1) reservation may be cancelled and 2) a reservation may be booked.

2017 introduced an automatic VIP upgrade that anyone can point to in today’s directory. Unfortunately for the system manipulators, the automatic upgrades would capture their premium cancellations, and they could not rebook or rebook-upgrade their 13-month-primo cancellations. The manipulators “lost” their scam, and Club Wyndham Owners booked their vacations at 10-13 months using their ARP, or VIPs upgraded within 60 days, instead. Win-Win.

I am sure more Owners, who are finding their 13-month reservations now versus not being able to find pre-2017, would gloat if they only knew the whole story and how they were being screwed for more than a decade by some VIP owners pre-2017. Or maybe they are just happy to use their Club Wyndham points to take their family on a primo vacation.
so when can I expect an eviction notice?

Ive been living in your head rent free for years. and still you hold me in there as your boogyman

I havent owned anything Wyndham for over 4 years, Cancel and rebook hasent been possible for 4 years... For gods sake man, let it go

That's all he has to say, Ron! That's all he has ever had to say!

That is a question to ask Jan M., who invoked your name.

I simply quoted your words that she must have missed.

There's citing someone as a source of information and knowledge, and then there's living rent-free in someone's mind. It's pretty clear Jan's references to Ron have been the former. Nobody here would care about my opinions on the latter.

... maybe @ronparise is just exchanging into @CO skier's mind and not paying maintenance fees there instead of actually living there rent-free. That would make more sense on TUG....

I assume @ronparise living rent free 'in someone's head" is not as financially rewarding as the loopholes of cancel rebook and stripping 3 years of use were.:ponder:

Still bickering over something that was perfectly legal/encouraged by sales staff and VCs. I spent hours on the phone each day just getting the right cancel and rebooks/upgrades. Some were more for it then others and the for the really good ones it was an achievement for them when done successfully. A 4 part, 7 day reservation, all cancelled and rebooked then all upgraded and rebooked the smaller units. Sometimes being able to put the same room number back together again. If not I had a few more cards up my sleeve to do that. Oh all for 1 guest confirmation fee. Ideally $99 if I had none left as the computer would not allow me to book a 3 part split reservation.

It came a few years too early and I wish I got a shot at beating the new system but I am glad I am no longer a Wyndham owner. I hope the people staying in the penthouses in AC (not so much now), Las Vegas, Ocean Walk and Bonnet Creek are enjoying them as much as I and my guests did. Hopefully I can get back there as a lowly renter one day after Covid is over.

I know a few VIPP owners that will pass along discounts and upgrades. If you played it right the stripping 3 years of use was worth more then cancel and rebook. You can still get 3 years of use trading deeds but will need to pay 13-14 months of maintenance fees. A negative balance prevents owning multiple deeds.

All the good ol days :) I'm pretty sure today PR is needed to obtain some of the really great upgrades (or some incredibly good luck to run across something).

Pretty sure @am1 you would be glad you are out, even more so, if you got a look at the new system. So much functionality missing, and incredibly slow.

Your wisdom often rings in my ears, as I work through things sometimes. I always remember your comment about there being a bottom price, that sometimes it's better to let a unit sit empty rather than basically give it away. I don't do that often (let them sit empty), but when I do - I play your words in my head (no eviction notice requested :)).

That's the problem Sandy a lot of owners do not have a bottom price because they have maintenance fees they no longer can afford. Some are happy if they can cover half their the costs renting. I refer to this as the burden of paying maintenance fees!

More like a Vulcan Mind meld that somehow freed planet Club Wyndham from a hostile, alien ... presence.

Oh, please.
