How long has Wyndham been withholding VIP through the rescission period after purchasing?

I had never heard that this is what they do now. When did this start? And isn't this is pretty big part of rescinding?

I don’t understand the question. Please provide related specifics.

I made a purchase to get to the next VIP level. It didn't happen. In fact it looks as though my permanent grandfathered status was demoted to a temporary one with an expiration date. When I called in they said that the VIP level doesn't occur until after the rescission period has ended.

This wasn't my experience in the past so this one befuddled me.

It was that way 2 to 3 years ago when I went from Gold to Platinum. They first said it could take a couple of days, but it ended up taking 6 days one day after the 5 day rescission period to show Platinum on the website

Day 6, no upgrade to VIP. I'm not exactly sure if anyone has upgraded VIP since the change. Perhaps their IT didn't have that built into the new system.

As long as you have the upgrade spelled out on your signed contract you’ll be okay if Wyndham tries to play games.

How long is your rescission period, maybe 7 days so you’ll have to wait for day 8??
I did have an expiration date that ended with the bonus contract. I was Platinum without the bonus contract but it still appeared & dropped off on the expiration date with no problems.

Rescission period ended at midnight. I called in and they said that it could take several weeks to get it changed so IT just might not have planned this one out.

You have to love the Club rules but we all know that Wyndham can change the rules without notice. Hopefully you are not trying to book a room inside of the VIP discount window.

I made a purchase points were added. Reservations booked then cancelled the purchase. Reservations were never canceled. Many years ago.

That is what they said as to why.

Here is a tidbit of YMMV:

I purchased through telesales and I was going off the resciission period of where the office was located. So the VIP didn't update when I had expected it. In reality, it was a couple of days later. So they actually held VIP until MY home state rescission period had ended. Of course my guess is that the rescission rate is lower with telesales anyway but I found this interesting.

So, did you squeak by and are grandfathered for free HK credits?
