Anyone stay at Lakeshore recently?

i has a guy come to a cabana around 3pm on July 4 a few years ago. I had towels over my head and was reading a book that was on the ground in front of me. I realized someone was there when a foot shifted my book.

he starts ranting about how I am in his cabana.

I advised him to talk to security or the lifeguards as they moved his items after they sat there all morning.

he wanted to start a fight or something. I guess when I got up he realized he would go talk to security. Being a fairly big guy has its advantages, but I talked to security a few minutes later just to make sure we did not have issues. Didn’t see him again.

OMG! People must be really on edge because of the pandemic. That's pretty bad behavior on that guy's part!

We always grab our cabana right when it opens, but we don't just abandon it. The lifeguards usually at least watch the cabanas to make sure they aren't hogged by people who aren't actually there. Keep me updated on the pool crowds please! We think we may just go for some weekdays instead of for the full week. None of us are game to deal with a crowd right now.
No lifeguards, just one lifeguard that I saw. He was engrossed in his phone the many times I floated by.

I was there around noon and it was a lot less busy than yesterday. Probably 25 people in the whole pool and there were seats and cabanas available. The marketplace opened back up, but they said no hot food till the week of the 4th. We went to the JW pool because we had planned on eating at the pool. We're here now and I'd say it's 25% full, if that. I came close to less than 5 people on my way around the lazy river. I'm thinking I might come here all week. They are also.giving out towels over here at the little store by the outdoor bar.

Did you walk over to JW or drive over?

At SeaWorld now and it is HOT and HUMID. Will be coming back in a few hours and want to sit in the cold JW river. Maybe will see you there.

We walked. As far as I know, there is still no shuttle service. It was nice over there. We're back at Lakeshore now.

No shuttle service right now. At JW in river. Pretty empty now. Will be back over to Lakeshore in an hour or so. The cool water feels so good.

I just got to the pool. I haven't been around yet, but it doesn't seem too crowded. We were able to get seats immediately. There are also cabanas open.

We are at Lakeshore now, arrived on Monday. The pool has not been crowded on the weekdays. Plenty of chairs available. No guests wearing masks at the pool. We enjoy the lazy river but it’s so warm. Not refreshing at all. We are going to see the JW pool tomorrow, we were told we can visit their pool on weekdays only.

The desk staff has NOT been forthcoming with info, at least the one young lady I seem to always get....It seems she doesn’t want to say any that might reflect badly....really, we all know there is a pandemic ongoing...anyway, the Marketplace is open with limited items. I believe the bar will open after the 4th of July. Disney is opening on the 11 th so Marriott is probably timing things to align with them.

The JW pool feels much better, has not been crowded, and has a limited food menu. I'm probably going straight there again tomorrow because it might not be allowed Friday.

It was nice meeting you and your lovely family. Hope to see you at the pool area tomorrow in the evening. To bad we couldn't use the pool tonight because of the lightning.

Maybe we can all meet up tomorrow evening in the pool? Would you want to have a small tug meet n greet normab? I am in Messina 3203. Will be able to meet up 7pm and later. We have a long day at Buschgardens and will be hitting the pool in the evening if weather permits.

Yes the water at the JW feels more refreshing in the afternoon when it is HOT. I am usually in the Lakeshore river in the morning about 8am or so. Heated Lakeshore river is relaxing and comfortable early in the morning and late at night.

I'm sure the employees are only allowed to say so much :( They have to get their info from corporate apparently (or at least that's what they said when I called). Things are getting so bad here in FL. I'm honestly surprised that they are planning to open anything more up as opposed to closing things like pools down.

I would imagine we'll end up at the pool tonight, weather permitting.

See you there and maybe normab will meet us there.

Hey y’all, I never checked again this thread til now. Sorry I missed your invite to meet, but honestly, Mr. Normab is not a social person. Seriously. I love my guy but he’s an introvert, and also really cranky about the whole mask wearing thing, so meetups are not a great idea.

We did get over to the JW a little bit after noon today. Was really great. What a huge lazy river, and you’re right, the temperature was so much better. Too bad we can’t go over the weekend. We’re planning on doing other things on Saturday and Sunday so we don’t have to deal with crowds at Lakeshore.

Enjoy!

Norma

No problem. If the pools open up later this evening I will be there.

I didn't get any word THE JW was unavailable this weekend. Did you?

We are supposed to check in tomorrow but with the numbers going up so much in Orange County we have decided not to go :( It sounds like the lazy river gets busy on the weekends but I don't trust it to not also be busy next week in the runup to July 4th weekend.

I truly feel for you....that is soooo disappointing, Lakeshore Reserve is so amazing......but you probably made a wise decision.
Do you have the ability to talk to Interval and perhaps change destinations to Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, or Ocean Pointe in Palm Beach Shores?
They might have something available (HH has 8 Marriott resorts, and OP is quite large), and I feel all of those locations are safer, IF you stay away from crowds, and at those resorts, it's possible! We just returned from Grande Ocean 2 weeks ago. GregT just returned from OP.

Mark (tug Interval rep) was able to turn it into an AC good for a year. I'm good with that option. Right now we just need to stay home. I wouldn't feel comfortable traveling anywhere out-of-state because we'd have to stop for gas/use rest areas and that alone is a risk. We live an hour from Lakeshore and go there a lot but still soooooo disappointing. I can't remember the last time we missed 4th of July week there :(

I traded back into LS for a second week. The family just didn't feel like packing up and moving again.

I didn't go to the Lakeshore pool today, but did go to the JW. It was pretty packed. We had trouble finding 4 chairs at first.

Also, even though there is a mask mandate, I still see many people in stores not wearing them here.
