I'm in the process of a transfer and all their numbers are ringing busy, emails bouncing, and website is down. RIP Sumday?!?!?

Has anyone heard anything? I would hate to see them go, they've been great to work with.

SumDay is currently involved in litigation, reportedly initiated by a "big name developer". SumDay might have decided (or perhaps has been advised by legal counsel) to suspend operations while they deal with their legal problems.

I got confirmation, they are CLOSED for good!!!!! Another one bites the dust, I lost out on a few timeshares last year this time with Vacation Properties for Less.

The Registry of Deeds are closed in many States due to the Corona Virus.

This may have something to do with current Title Transfer delays that are being handled by ANY Company,

Obviously some Companies may have suspended business for the same reason.......

That's too bad. I had good experiences with them!

How did you get confirmation?

You took the words right out of my mouth. Confirmation from whom and on what (verified) basis in fact???

I read a post in Facebook that they lost the case and closed up shop. I read it on Facebook so it is known to be truth based on that. With that being said, it is most likely they have closed up shop.

I don't have any business with SumDay and never did. Maybe it's just my own background, but when I see the word "confirmation", I expect to see reference to supporting evidence, without which I equate the word "confirmation" with the word "rumor". YMMV.

I agree. I was being facetious. If emails are being bounced back and phones are going “busy”, those aren’t good signs.

Possible with this virus they decided to pause?

Possible, but with everyone working at home, I’d think you can do transfers at home, if I can buy and sell timeshares with just my iPad and a printer I’m sure they can do the same lol. But the email bounce back and busy signal on the phone lines isn’t a good sign. If they shut down for the virus I’m sure they would respond via email or have a message on their phones.

Whatever the explanation might be, I find it very hard to believe that the (relatively recent) case filed against Sumday by Diamond Resorts has already been resolved and concluded. Accordingly, I am inclined to regard the above-referenced "Facebook story" as being uninformed bull$H*t at worst, or just completely unsubstantiated rumor at best. It was just two weeks ago (March 06, 2020 to be precise) that Diamond Resorts issued a press release announcing / proclaiming that their case against SumDay was going to proceed, after a SumDay "motion to dismiss" was denied by a Federal judge. It is highly unlikely (...to say the least) that everything has now been magically concluded, a mere 14 days later. Civil cases in the Federal Court system simply do not move anywhere near that quickly.

Attorney(s) representing SumDay might, for all anyone knows (which is actually nothing), have instructed their client to "immediately stop doing whatever it is you've been doing that has motivated this lawsuit in the first place, until we can litigate this matter".

Just sayin'...

I doubt anyone is getting timeshares now. Tug is the slowest in new members ever now too. I have a few great weeks to list for free on tug and have held off as I feel even a tuggers mindset isn’t on acquiring new weeks now.

I have to hold up the transfer of my sale. The deed already recorded in the new owners name but it has to be held up since I have 2020 usage and this virus delayed my usage toward the end of the year. If I transfer now I’ll lose the usage and that’s not in the contract. Luckily the money is in escrow and it’s passed any rescission period by the buyer. I sold for a great price it too. Sold within an hour of posting it.

Looks like you joined TUG yesterday. Are you a DRI shill?
Yup, you got me ;)

Long time lurker and didn't see anyone post anything about this so I finally broke down and made an account. I have a few transfers with them and I have PTSD from last year after being screwed by Vacation Properties for Less when they filed for BK.

I spoke with one of the employees, that's how I found out they closed down.

"Closed down" is very vague "information" (and is offered by a brand new visitor to these TUG forums). This (unidentified) "employee" (if s/he even exists) may actually have no idea at all what is going on behind the scenes, nor any knowledge of what attorneys representing "respondent" SumDay may have recommended as an interim course of action while litigation is ongoing.

Call me a cynic, but I'm just not a fan of anonymous, unsubstantiated and unverified statements and half-stories. :ponder:

It doesn’t look good at all if Sumday legal counsel advised them to shut the door shortly after the lawsuit was filed.
The legal counsel definitely doesn’t like Sumdays case.

What did Diamond allege that Sumday did? From what I've heard Diamond is a predatory company that has sued timeshare resorts in the past trying to get them to sell out at a bargain price.

You can find the entire complaint on line, you just need to search, I found it. I didn't save the link, but it's out there.

The phone number has been disconnected and the website appears dead although you can still go to the underlying URL pages. It definitely looks like they are no more.
