It's only a Primary, but. . . .

Being we were Independents (no party) in NY we never could vote in a primary. Here is NH we were so excited to finally be able to- First in The Nation!. But hubby decided he wanted to change to a party this time, so he did so. I stayed an Independent.

We'll vote early for next Tuesday's Florida Primary.

But first, we have to figure out two little city commission races.
They're "non-partisan, but you can sorta tell. The questions are:
1. Do we reelect mediocre incumbents or try out newcomers?
2. Do we go by newspaper endorsements or my neighbor's?
.

I see a lot of incumbents losing their seats. I can’t wait for local races. I want to turn our school board.

1) Cannot answer - you will need to research newcomers.
2) Neighbor's! Newspapers are so skewed to whichever side they are rooting for.

In person or mail in ?

We mailed our ballots in today. They probably will toss them because we didn't check a party preference but oh well. Most of the people I know are doing the same.

We voted. Even though we are registered as Independents in NC, when we walked in the first thing they asked was what ballot we wanted.

In Washington State, Your vote will not count if you did not check a party preference.

I know, but since they decided to make party preference noticeable to any one that can see the envelope we decided to not check it and send them in anyway. The first person that would see this is our mail carrier. The second person would possibly be in the auditors office. Considering that King and Pierce County will decide the nominations I doubt that it really mattered anyway.
