Latest BS in My Jan. 1 Update

Fortunately allie promised to put us back on the "do not bug" list.

I think she probably lied to you about that one also. As I understand it, only the Director of Sales can make that happen. The best any others can do is put you on the local/resort Do Not Gift (DNG) list.

I recently came off the list for some reason, so have been attending updates. They quickly see the "No Sale" look in my eyes, and tend to rush me out. I always have them check on how I can get back on the list, and that is the answer I have gotten twice.

I just purchased 400K points with Club Wyndham on Saturday and they told me no RCI exchange fees and you get VIP cruise for two every year. I called the member service and they said I still have to pay exchange fees with RCI and the cruise is not free.
Also told me you can make about $60K by renting out the points through Extra Holiday program by Wyndham. Is it possible? Thank you in advance.

Why are you asking, going for 3 out of 3. ?

If so, congratulations it is 3 out of 3 lies told. If these were your reasons for purchasing then you should exercise your right to rescind, do it quickly while still eligible.

Welcome to TUG. Glad you found us!
Looks like this is your first post and you have lots of reading / catching up to do.
None of what they told you is true. I'll address your question about renting out points through Extra Holidays since your other questions were answered. Do not purchase with the intent of making money by renting via Extra Holidays. Wyndham takes a significant cut, and the rentals aren't guaranteed. If you turn a reservation over to Extra Holidays and it doesn't rent, or only some of the nights rent, you are SOL.
You are on the clock to rescind - focus on that. Rescind, and then come back and read more. Wyndham is a great product, great resorts. But you don't want to pay what you did. TUG is a great place to learn.

Not even you owned 3-5 million points and were dumb enough to rent everything through Extra Holidays!

Extra Holidays gets 40% right off the top and you get a 1099 for your taxes. You have to book the reservations yourself and go through the paperwork to turn them over to EH. There is no guarantee they will sell all the nights of any stay you book. Say for instance you booked a full week. They might only sell part of the stay, you might not even see a profit and the rest of the stay then becomes their to keep. You don't get those remaining nights back nor do you get anything for them. Yes they can then sell or in some way use the rest of that stay and you get nothing. Say you booked a three day weekend or holiday thinking that was safer and they didn't sell either the Friday or Saturday night of that reservation. Fridays and Saturdays are usually almost twice as many points to book as Sunday-Thursdays nights. Again you have just lost any profit. These scenarios can and do happen.

Edited: I just realized that I made anyone who uses Extra Holidays sound like an idiot and that isn't how I intended to come off. There is a learning curve as in what resort to book and when to book it. Also up to a certain time frame you can pull your reservation out of EH if it hasn't sold. The program wouldn't exist if it didn't work for some people. Yes you can typically make more money renting out the stay yourself but Wyndham provides the owner with a customer base, advertising, listing the stay, collecting the money and dealing with the renter. Not everyone wants to do the work or put up with the headaches of renting themselves. Anyone who rents will eventually have a renter that makes them want to never rent again.

Said another way. You have but once chance to rescind, and a lifetime to buy.

If you are questioning your purchase, then you need more time to research the decision. But once the recession deadline is passed, you own what you bought.

Hi Zack. I am reposting in this manner to be sure you see Eric's comments about your post. The way the bulletin board works you may not have received a notification and I want to be sure you see this.

At Cypress Palms, over Christimas, we were told that only our developer points would qualify for 10-13 month ARP but our resale contract would no longer qualify for ARP. I pointed out to her that both contracts are CWA and that it is CWA that provides the ARP window. She acknowledged that both are CWA but said only the developer points would qualify for ARP.
We have temporary Silver status and she was trying to say that the Silver status is what has been allowing us to use resale points in the ARP window. So when that expires the resale points would only allow to book a long vacation but no benefits. I tried explain that ARP is based on the CWA points not the Silver status.
The scary part is I think she believed what she was saying.
