I’ve tried to exchange into Hyatt’s Siesta Key via II (as a Marriott owner) but no luck. There doesn’t seem to be much information @ the resort posted. We love the Sarasota area. I’m not familiar with the Hyatt system but have read most of the Hyatt stickies. Any thoughts or suggestions @ Siesta Key Resort are appreciated.
Others will likely know the history better than I do, but I believe there are around 40 units total. I believe that only 11 fractional units were sold and the rest were sold as whole ownership. I believe there were different fractional options (1/8 share, 1/16th share, etc.) sold. Owners are assigned fixed weeks and have either 1 or 2 floating weeks. The fixed weeks are for the most desirable times (Christmas through April, and Memorial Day through Labor Day), with the rest of the time as floating weeks.
Many owners opt to rent out their units when they don't use them rather than exchange them. All of the above factors (just 11 units, high rentals rates, high demand) make it a very difficult trade in the Hyatt internal system. I would think it would be virtually impossible to trade in as an interval international exchange.
While it's possible to get exchanges via the internal Hyatt system, I sure wouldn't count on it when buying a week.
Units have decent availability to book via the Hyatt hotel website, and there is often availability via redweek. Rates average around $500-$600 a night.
I stayed there in September and our whole family loved it. We were able to stay in a deluxe unit, so we had a great ocean view, and there was plenty of space for my family and my in laws (our unit was probably 2500 square feet). The furnishings were all very high end, and no one wanted to leave at the end of our stay.
