I am considering renting points for the same week at the same resort to two separate friends. Would there be any issues with double booking like this as long as there are different names on each reservation? Thanks for any information you can offer.

Each unit needs to have a unique name as you surmise. Remember, though, that once you use a guest certificate, you lose it even if you later cancel the reservation. As long as you do not have a third unit in your name, you can book one of the units in your name for now and add the guest name later.

Like Chris said, I would not put the reservations in the guests name until 72hrs out. In case they cancel or guest name needs to change for some reason (illness, delay).

If you have two owners on the account (ie. husband/wife), I would just put the reservations in those names to hold them.

Same as above. The friend your booking for that backs out the most I would keep that one in your name for now. Most people dont understand timeshares, they treat them as hotels that they can cancel 24 hrs in advance with no problem no matter what you tell them.
