We live in California but vacationed in Arizona for two weeks from Feb 2- Feb 16th. When we received our credit card bill we had the rental fee from Advantage Car Rental as expected. Next page I found a 2nd charge from Advantage for $118.38 so I called to ask what it was for? We were told it was for toll charges. What, there aren't toll roads in Arizona so the woman said it came from the highway dept. and is for Florida Toll charges and she transferred me to their phone line. The woman in Florida then told me it was for 18 charges of not paying tolls starting on Feb 4th. I now have to prove I was in Arizona not Florida. So I got a fax # from her and faxed the credit card statement showing our 2 weeks of charges in Arizona. The woman told me she'd email me the results.
Well, 2 days later and I haven't received an email. How long should it take to figure it out? We rented the car starting the 2nd at 3pm. How fast would I have to drive to run toll roads in Florida starting on the 4th? Just common sense tells me no way.
Advantage hasn't done anything to help me clear this up. I am waiting now for Florida to be back from lunch to call them and hopefully get this fixed.

Don't count on Advantage to do the right thing...
even when armed with indisputable proof you were not in Florida.

I'd dispute the charge with your credit card issuer.
Once , a long time ago, I was charged for a car rental in Vegas
at a time when I'd never been to Vegas. Disputed... Gone.

How many miles did you put on the rental car during the two week period? Would have to be over 4000 miles if you drove all the way to Florida and back.

Hadn't even thought about the mileage. Already didn't care for Advantage because I felt they pull bait and switch on the rental. We booked full size and they gave us a smaller car. We agreed after they took off another $50 only because otherwise we were going to be without a car or go to one of the other rental companies there and spend 3 times as much.

Definitely dispute the charges with your CC issuer...

These toll issues happen a lot.

Dispute it and they will get off their tukas and correct it.
