Do you use a washcloth?

I only use wash cloths to wipe shaving cream off my face.

When we travel, DW absconds with the little bars of soap and bottles.
They now occupy most of 2 medicine cabinets and storage under a sink.
... I make room for more by secretly disposing of the ones in back.

But she'll go online and order scented soaps from France to use.

I and my siblings got dirty as kids ... grounded in dirty and wash cloths helped to clean off the grunge. Sponges DO NOT take off that layer of dirt (or dead skin cells).

As an adult, I usually place the soap bar inside the wash clorh to keep it from slipping out of my hands ... to be chased around the tub or shower stall ... with the hair shampoo or conditioner rinsing out before I think it should be.

And I feel 'cleaner'.

The scotch bright pads I use will leave you feeling really clean. Its the same ones that are used for cleaning pans. Scrubber on one side and sponge on the other.

I used to use a washcloth. Now I use shower gel and a pair of those "scrubby" gloves. I do use a washcloth when I wash my face at night and also when we're traveling as I don't take my scrubby gloves with me. Dh uses a washcloth.

SOS pads will leave you feeling even cleaner!

A little Barkeeper's Friend on the Scotch Pad will keep your aluminum foil hat all shiny.

I use the wash cloths to clean the windows on our cars. The cotton works so much better than paper towels.

I had scrubby gloves for years in a drawer and never used them. Seems like at age 62 suddenly I have dry flakey skin, to say nothing of crepey skin, so I use the gloves at least every other time I bathe. But I use them after I've already washed with the washcloth, and I'll use a little bottle of liquid timeshare bath soap, rather than the bar soap, to pour into the glove (and then flinch because it's cold!).

5 words, Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Soap

Leftover cloth diapers when our kids were little.

In terms of bar soap- yep- we use bar soap at the sink (no liquid soap for us) and in the shower. Doesn't matter if anyone else has used the same bar. It is, after all- uh- soap!
It's not the soap I'm worried about, it's where the last person in the shower put it...

How about Mr Clean Pads.

Nope. I like the scotch bright pads because on one side it exfoliates and the other side is a nice soft sponge. I like Ivory soap because it floats in the bath tub. I have been doing this for 40+ years and my skin is holding up pretty good. Good meaning it is still fairly tight and smooth. Same for my wife. She has very nice skin.

I think Ivory soap is the only soap to use lye and oils. The other soaps use detergent is what I was told by a wise guy.

DILUTE! DILUTE! OKAY!

Even diluted I can't use even the gentle baby variety Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Soap. My husband could use it but didn't care for it.

These are the two soaps I buy. The One With Nature Olive Oil soap is fragrance free and I stock up on it when Vitacost is having a sale or some kind of discount. I have allergies and have problems with scented products but fortunately this Trader Joe's soap doesn't bother me even though isn't fragrance fee. I love the smell and like using something different once in a while.

Sometimes I use a wash cloth. And years ago, a co-worker gave a few of us a Christmas gift with bath items that included a Salux Nylon Japanese Beauty Skin Bath Wash Cloth. This piece of nylon replaced our back brush and my husband and I love this thing. I bought a bunch of them on Amazon.com and gave them to family and friends and they all love it too. Who would have thought a $3 or $4 item would be so awesome.

I’m the same as you. The only other use is if I need to scrub off stuff like poison ivy. This thread is very strange.

There were always wash cloths, but I don't generally use them. I don't need scratchy fibers on me, and don't need more laundry. Lather by hand seems to work just fine. If I need to scrub, like I got really dirty, then I might grab one.

Bar soap, I like Dove and will keep on buying it. Bar soap lasts much longer than liquid and cheaper.

I use a washcloth to wash off my make up. I use a washcloth on vacation when we are sharing a shower (hubby and sometimes my daughter).

At home. I am the only one using soap. My daughter uses a body wash. Hubby uses the bathroom downstairs to shower and uses his own soap. We are not sharing same soap bar or I would be using a washcloth too.

Summer months, I do need to use a loofah, sponge, washcloth to rub off suntan lotion........

If we have a guest (usually my future son-in-law), I will place body wash in the shower (new/small travel size).

I also have a special soap bar for my face/eyes - since I have Blepharitis. My sister made a comment once when she saw it......:D she said, I did not know people still used soap.

I also keep hand soap (bottle) in each bathroom - we don't use the soap bar.

So much info. here on TUG - all good
