Hello Tuggers!

We learned about this site last year, while we were staying at Bonnet Creek on an eBay rental. Met a gentleman at the pool and started chatting about how much we had paid, and how he had been there for over a month, due to TUG.

Being skeptical as I typically am, I checked out this site and over the last year have been doing research... I can understand why this site is quite the gem when it comes to last second rentals!

I’m no stranger to renting from eBay or through personal sites - we’ve done multiple stays at timeshare properties all over the US. However, I don’t completely understand how you extend stays at the same property.

If you have overlapping dates, do they allow you to just stay in the same room?

If you’re currently in a 2BD and you rent a 1BD confirmation, do they just allow the upgrade to avoid the cleaning?

Is this completely dependent on the property (I imagine so)?

I can’t fathom staying at a timeshare for over a month, but something about the ridiculousness of that makes me want to try at some point, lol!

Thanks in advance, and hopefully some of yall will catch me at Bonnet Creek for the entire holiday time.

If you have overlapping dates, do they allow you to just stay in the same room? OVERLAPPING OR CONSECUTIVE -- THE RESORT WILL DO ALL IT CAN TO AVOID MAKING THE GUEST MOVE. IT'S NOT GOOD FOR THE GUEST OR THE RESORT. IN OTHER WORDS, IF YOU HAVE A RESERVATION THAT ENDS ON SATURDAY AND ANOTHER IN THE SAME CLASS UNIT THAT STARTS ON SATURDAY, ALMOST CERTAINLY YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO MOVE. YOU SHOULD PLAN ON GETTING OUT OF THE WAY FOR A FEW HOURS SO HOUSEKEEPING CAN CHANGE THE BEDS, TOWELS, AND DO WHATEVER TIDYING IS NECESSARY.

If you’re currently in a 2BD and you rent a 1BD confirmation, do they just allow the upgrade to avoid the cleaning? UNLIKELY, UNLESS THERE ARE VACANT 2BR UNITS.

Is this completely dependent on the property (I imagine so)? MOST EVERYTHING DEPENDS ON THE PROPERTY. SOME OF IT DEPENDS ON WHICH STAFF MEMBER YOU ASK.

Thanks in advance, and hopefully some of yall will catch me at Bonnet Creek for the entire holiday time. PROBABLY NOT IN 2018 BUT YOU MIGHT GET LUCKY AND CATCH A CANCELLATION. AT THE MOMENT, THERE IS NOTHING AT BONNET CREEK EXCEPT A FEW SCATTERED ONE OR TWO NIGHTS.

We own with various Timeshare companies so with our Marriott Desert Springs Villas week we Exchange it to our Ridge Owner week since its really not worth going down there for a week. We piggy back the week off the Owner week at the Ridge. What I do is look for Consecutive Weeks starting the same day the Owner week Ends.

Then I book the 2 bedroom Interval Week. I have learned that RCI does not assign the Cascades where we own so I only do the Interval Week. I then call the resort and ask them to link our reservation and keep us in the same room.

As we are owners at the Ridge we get priority on room location and linking reservations even as an Exchange we are treated like Owners no matter what.

For last minute rentals what you could do is ask the Front Desk Reservations Manager to see if there will be any unoccupied rentals. You may have to checkout for one night and stay at another place and then check back in the next day. Or purchase one night and start the week on Sunday and have them link it to the same room.

What I have found out is sometimes that you need to purchase one night to get the second week at the last minute. For the most part people don't cancel but some do at the last minute. The Rentals Department can perhaps work with you to get a good price. Remember an unsold and unoccupied room is no good for a resort so see what comes up.

Not at Bonnet Creek but we have extended our stay while at a timeshare. One of our first few stays at Vacation Village at Parkway many years ago we had a 2 bedroom booked for 1 week. A few days into our stay I found a 2nd week (in a 1 bedroom) at VV@P listed in the RCI Last Calls. I booked the week then took my reservation confirmation down to the front desk to enquire about being able to stay in the same "A" side for the 2nd week. After some checking the woman said it wouldn't be a problem. Then she asked if we would like a thorough clean on the check-out /check-in day for our side. I said it wasn't necessary and if they could supply fresh towels and sheets I'd change them my self. Housekeeping arrived on the Saturday morning with the new linens and left without cleaning the "B" side and never returned. Since we had the connecting doors open I don't know if our "B" side cards stopped working or not but we ended up having both units all week. We just made sure to close our unit's interior door whenever we went out in case housekeeping decided to return.
