Grand Colorado on Peak 8
this is a link to a photo album from our stay at Grand Colorado on Peak 8. The resort remains under heavy construction at they work to complete building 3. I would anticipate heavy construction through the summer with most of the building's skeleton completed during the spring/summer/fall seasons. After that I would like to think the real heavy stuff will be done.
This resort competes in quality with the Hyatt, Marriott and Hilton resorts in Breckenridge and is a higher standard than Grand Vacations other three resorts in Breckenridge. Be aware this resort sits at about 10,000 feet, so if you're prone to altitude sickness it might not be a great choice.
Grand Colorado has two types of Master Suites, a larger Grand Colorado, to which there are only 2 per floor in buildings one and two, and the smaller Breckenridge unit. If you're exchanging into the resort you're much more likely to be assigned the smaller Breckenridge style unit. This photo album is of a 1 bedroom Master Suite Breckenridge style unit.

It's a beauty alright. I was there last summer. One of my friends was staying at Grand Timber, and we had to go see this one. I didn't see in a unit, however. I like Grand Timber for the lower altitude. I was huffing and puffing at the Peak.

Beautiful. Looks a lot like Stowe Mountain Lodge.

We have friends who sometimes travel with us. They spent a week with us at Grand Lodge on Peak 7. In the town of Breckenridge they did fine. But put them up at Grand Lodge on Peak 7 and they had a lot of issues with the altitude. I never would have thought that there could be a difference at just a few hundred feet higher but it really affected them a lot.

Thank you! Such great photos. Such a gorgeous lobby. We stayed in a studio in October and the altitude didn’t bother us (we live near Denver), but we stayed at Grand Lodge Peak 7 in June several years ago and the altitude did bother us, so we tried to take it easier. We love Breckenridge.

I know it's super trendy right now but the rooms seem like an awful lot of grey.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom last August, and the unit is indeed..... gray. I spoke to the manager about it and he indicated he has been getting a lot of similar feedback. I suggested brighter artwork, pillows, and repainting a few walls an accent color.

Well, supposedly they’re going to refurbish these units every 2 years. That would be impressive since even Marriott only does a soft refurb every 5 years and full refurb every 10. So, if they do refurb every 2 years maybe the grey won’t last very long.

Thanks for posting! Beautiful, but I think I still like Grand Lodge at Peak 7 better

Wow, that's a really nice resort.

I like Peak 7’s aquatics better. But the rooms at Grand Colorado feel a little more roomy, there’s an extra half bath in the master suite of the Breckenridge unit and 2 full baths in the Colorado unit plus, the furnishings are better quality. But you pay for all that with MF’s that are higher than Peak 7’s.

Each resort definately has a different feel so it won’t be any surprise that some will like one better than the other for various reasons. Each are fine resorts.

Doug, I'm getting a 404 error when I click on your link in the first post. Now I feel I am missing out (although I've toured those units and they are quite nice.) We loved summer in Breckenridge--and enjoyed our stay at Grand Timber Lodge.

That did the trick! Thanks for sharing your albums—I always enjoy them.
