We checked in last night to a 1BR. I had selected a phase 2 unit but they tried to put us in the old section. I saw several people checking in and getting building 52 also. I asked to switch and had to wait 20 minutes while he confirmed a unit was ready, so we got building 65, much better. If you prefer to be near the new super pool complex hold out for building 58 or higher.

Construction on new units seems to have halted, there are just the bare lots prepared in the open area across from us and the green fencing has been removed.

Major construction going on up at the Sheraton hotel, a large extension butting up against the north side and a large building behind the Convention Center on the south. I marked up the areas under construction in red.

Its been a while since we last stayed at Marbrisa. Where else can they expand? Can they add more buildings along the road / parking after building 60 and 61?

There are pads for three more buildings beyond 61, the utilities are in place. I assume 62,63,64 following the numbering scheme.

Thanks,

Looks like they are getting close to winding down on building, unless they have more land someplace.

I overheard one of the sales staff tell a prospective couple that the county owns the greenspace between the resort and Legoland, will not allow more building there. His lips were moving so no telling if there is any truth to that.

Its fun to hang out at the pool and watch the people come through on their sales tours.

The salesperson was partially right. The City of Carlsbad owns the land and has leased land to Grand Pacifics Resorts. Marbrisa is managed by HGVC, the Sheraton and the new construction by the Sheraton will be a new Westin.

Correct. Staying here as well. Asked many of the staff they don't know much. "Cooling off period" was stated in the in notary office on the property as of September 15th. Seems like light work on the Sheraton side of the property too. This could be sales shortage or financing steps but I'd be speculating. The green space does not appear to be city land. It has services tied in already.
