As a family we spend the entire day outside playing hard, therefore after dinner we are pretty tired out and like to relax in the unit watching TV. Does anyone have a copy of the channel list for the Westin Kaanapali on Maui and the Westin Laugunamar in Cancun? We will be traveling to both resorts over the next six months and would like to know what our options are. If someone is at one of the resorts and could take and post a photo of the channel list, it would be greatly appreciated. I know that some people don't like watching TV when on vacation, but we are so busy during the day it is how we relax.

Thanks,

Steve

Here is the Lagunamar list. What you don't see here is that some are in English and some are in Spanish , so your choices are even more limmited.

I just wanted to add - I don't know what AXN is, but my wife loves this channel. It has all her favorite crime drama shows like Hawaii 5-0 and the NCIS series, Scorpion, and the like

What's nice about Lagunamar is they have a panel right under the TV that has 2 electrical outlets, 4 USB ports, and an HDMI input jack which connects to the HDMI 3 input on the TV. No more searching for jacks on the back anymore. This makes hooking up your laptop to stream TV so easy! In this photo you can see I have the Netflix menu on the screen, while I am watching Wheeler Dealers on my iPad!

Sea Six, That is interesting. When we spoke earlier today, I didn't recall seeing this in our bldg 9 villa. I just checked it out and we don't have that panel like you show in your photo.

It was great meeting you and your wife today in the Lagunamar pool.

That's too bad. Maybe bldg 2 had some refurbishment your building didn't get yet. Can you even get to the input jacks on the back of your TV?

PS - are you in a studio? We are in a 1BR premium. The TV in our bedroom does not have the power panel, only the one in the living room.

I can't move the TV, but felt up behind it. There are three cords. I pulled one out and it is the red side of the old RCA style audio plugs. I suspect the other two are the white side and perhaps the Yellow video, maybe S-Video if we are lucky. That seems to be why the quality on our TV is so awful!

That's really helpful thanks!

In my opinion, streaming is the way to go here at Lagunamar. BUT you have to consider the source as many things, like live TV, can not be streamed from USA to Mexico.

We were just at WLR last week. Room 1052 in Bldg 10 didn't have that inputs panel in either the living room or bedroom. Maybe they just have it in the Phase I units? It would have been nice to have at least access to the HDMI input. We ended up lifting out the TV in the bedroom to plug in an HDMI cable and then setting it back into the wall mount. TV wasn't heavy, but it was a tad tricky lining up the TV to the wall mount. Our TV's wall mount basically locks/unlocks itself when you line up the TV at an angle, just the right away. No bolts or screws to mess with. At the end of our stay, there was enough room in the back of the TV for me to just pull the HDMI cable out. We've installed different kinds of wall mounts, so we felt confident we could do it without damaging anything or hurting ourselves. I would not recommend it if you're not the DIY-type.

The panel at the bottom of the TV actually flips open if you push it. They could just have an HDMI cable waiting behind there until they install the inputs panel.

I have a Slingbox 350 at home connected to my TiVo and DirecTV that allows me to stream live TV and my recorded shows wherever I have a stable internet connection. I think it would have worked great at WLR, but didn't use it during this trip.

Don't be so sure. Once they detect your location you will see how restrictive it is to stream across the border.

You remind me of my struggles in the past. Great effort! I am hoping they make it easier for us to connect. I am so happy to have this power panel here at Lagunamar. I will talk this up with management and my reviews. Like the OP, I want to watch my favorite shows while I'm away

Thank you for all of the replies. They were helpful. Does anyone have a copy of the channel guide from the Westin Kaanapali that they could post or if you are there could you please take a picture of the channel guide and post it? Thank you for the assistance, I greatly appreciate it.

Steve
