Back in July 2016 we called Hyatt and went on the wait list for multiple requests for Kaanapali, 4 nights and 7 nights, 1 bedrooms and 2 bedrooms for May and June of 2017. We asked that all requests not be cancelled when one was confirmed. We were just confirmed for a 4 night in a 1 bedroom which thrilled us but when we looked at our wait list on line, discovered that they cancelled all the other 4 night requests, just kept our 1 week wait list requests. When we spoke to the agent in July he assured us that all our requests would be kept if we were confirmed with one as we are trying to string dates together. We called Hyatt agian today and they re-booked our requests for 4 nights but it goes in as a new request dated November with a note attached as to the situation. This puts us far down on the priority list. Does anyone know if the attached note will have any weight on our priority status or does Hyatt just look at the dates requests were made. Does anyone have any ideas of anything else we might do to ensure we get our requests honored for the date last July they originally were made?

We, too, learned this the hard way! If you put in a request for multiple weeks at once, all will show separately on your request list but are considered one request and have one confirmation number. If one of those is confirmed, the others will be cancelled since they all have the same confirmation number and are considered one request. To avoid this, you need to request each desired week separately so that they have different request numbers. That way if you clicked to box to not cancel other requests if one is confirmed, the other request numbers will remain on the list.

Thank you, that is great information. I wondered about our multiple reservations having the same request number. We thought that by calling and having Hyatt do it for us on the phone and explaining what we wanted that we would not have to worry about that. Hyatt should have explained this to us but maybe they don't know the ins and outs of their system themselves. This is the first year we have tried the wait list and we are finding it a learn as you go. But I am excited to at least get 4 nights in Ka'anapali and we will fill in other dates with hotel points. At this point in time is it too late to get a Hawaii stay from interval and does anyone have any recommendations? We will probably do 1 other island besides Maui, either Kauai or the Big Island

This is an ongoing issue with the wait list. When ever you place a request you (or the agent) must check the box indicating it is a stand alone request, not related to any other request. The only way for the cancelled request to be reinstated, at it's original priority, is for Hyatt to modify the entry in the computer system.

Thanks Kal!! We called back in to Hyatt today and told the rep that we had spoken to a Hyatt expert and , then shared your info. She put in a notice for Hyatt to review our
request so we shall see if they modify the entry. If not as least we know what to do next time. I think it helps to not call into Hyatt on weekends as the reps do not seem to know
all the ins and outs of Hyatt. Maybe it is just hit or miss. We have at times had great reps assist us.

The reason for waiting is that the modification has to be made by the IT department. It is very normal for them to wait until a week day. Make sure you follow-up in a few days to verify the modification was made.
