Several major international airlines provide reasonably good noise cancelling headphones now, in business class anyway, so it is always worth checking.
I still always take my trusty Bose QC2s though.

A couple of years ago, I purchased a white set for the DW and a black set for myself. I don't know how we survived all these years without them. We just got back from Europe last week that included 10 hour flights between Las Vegas and London and we kept our QC25's on our heads and turned-on the whole time: so-so quite. Not only does it silence all of the voices around you, but that deep droning engine noise fads away into complete silence

I use them to escape my open plan office. I figure a payback of $1 a day.

These PSB headphones are some of the highest rated I've seen. Don't own any now, but these will probably be the ones I get when I get some. Supposedly the most accurate sound quality in this price range. List is $399, but can usually be bought for $299. Reviews say very close to the sound you get from really good $1000 audiophile headphones.

Well it makes sense that I would stay at a Residence Inn... Being a timeshare type you know. So it is a Residence Inn, but just not this particular location.

Oh and thanks for the Noise cancelling headphone tips everyone. I survived the screaming baby. If I flew frequently I would buy a good set of headphones.

If I got me a pair of $300 Bose I would have to get DW a set, lest she would feel left out of the party.

I wish I had the opportunity to fly more frequently. However I am a land road warrior!
