KoOlina in February

Many years ago we went to KoOlina in February and it rained every day to the point where schools were closed. We would like to visit in February 2017 but is February the rainy season? What is the weather typically?
Also, we know at KoOlina there is a bank of rooms in the original building classified as Mountain View but the ocean can be seen from the room. Does the third building have rooms designated as mountain but provide a view of the ocean ( especially since building 4 is not built yet )?
Thanks for the help!

Typically February is not that bad. Rainy season is usually October to January.
The villas in the naia that are phase 4 mountain view have a view of the ocean. Although you might have to look to the right of the harbor to see it. Some people donot like this view as there is a harbor nd industrial complex if you look to the left of the villa or straight ahead depending on the unit location.

We have gone often in February and have always had great weather. I think you were just unlucky when you were there before.

I think wind and rough ocean may be more of a concern in February. YMMV.

Weather at Ko Olina

Ko Olina is a beautiful! The weather was beautiful... We were there the last week in February. Seventies to eighties every day and no rain... HI is pretty consistent year round weather-wise. Check out the annual average temps by month on the web.

We were pleased to have a beautiful two bedroom unit on the 11th floor of Naia, the southernmost of the three towers. We could easily see the ocean while looking off to the right. Straight ahead off of our balcony was the the industrial area, but overall the view is much better than we expected, given the "Mountain View" designation.

A car is essential here. The Diamond Head climb and the North Shore surfers and the WW II Memorial were great. The Polynesian Cultural Center is overrated.

Wesley...

Winter, including February, is the rainy season:

I've been to Aulani in Ko'Olina 3 different stays all in either February or late January and our weather was for the most part good. We did have a couple of cooler & quite windy days a year ago in late January but I don't recall rain so if we had it, it was very sparse.

DeniseM is correct that winter is the rainy season for Hawaii. That said, almost all resorts in Hawaii are on the leeward, much drier side. This doesn't mean they don't get rain, just not nearly as much or as often as the windwards sides.

I agree having a car is essential, so much to see and do! And if you're a Costco member there's a very nice Costco only about a 5 -7 minute drive. Have fun!! And watch for whales, winter is Humpback season! :cheer:
