Mayan palace PV extra exchanger fee??

We just checked in to MP PV through SFX. They are going to charge us $75/per week for being an exchanger. Anyone heard of that? ( that's over and above the required tax)

The front desk young man said he would double check with SFX ( he obviously did not recognize them).

Had this happened to anyone else ? And has anyone heard of this before?

Specific to SFX - not sure.- have not used them - ( and own MP )
I have read about it on TUG and /or RCI resort specific ( not just Mayan)

We paid Club Regina Cancun -Feb 2015 - RCI exchange - something similar
desk / check out said it was toward daily maid service & towels etc
Part of the cost of unlimited sushine - no charge !!!

Is the wifi included or extra ?

Feb 2016 As owner - we paid 900 peso for week - first device - wifi - ( Guadalajara wifi subcontractor ) at the Mayan Palace PV - Marina ( our contract is older & wifi barely existed )

We spent a second week -Feb2016 - at the Sea Garden NV and there the basic ( non streaming ) wifi was free as a part of Neuvo Vidanta .

I think Wifi at MP PV Marina - is on a contract with the provider that has not finished it's term . FYI - 2nd device / less50%'/ 3rd less 75% / 4th - less 90%

The MP PV - Marina wifi service does not currently offer streaming level .
BUT - you can walk to the Marina restaurants and the bus to the malecon and centro is across the street and towards the Valmar

What's included in the $75 extra charge?

My cousins got charged $75 fee via SFX 7/2014 for an exchange 9/2015. Sfx started to charge $75 fee in July, the week I booked The exchange for my cousins. On the other hand, I did not get charge when I exchanged a week to grand Mayan 5/2014 for checkin 12/20/2014. Both exchanges are for grand Mayan riviera maya.
The fee suppose to cover internet, shuttle from airport to hotel one way. I still got basic internet access when I did not pay in 12/2014

All of our 2015/2016 Interval exchanges into GL in Nuevo Vallarta had the $75USD/week resort fee. It covers internet, transfers from the airport to the resort, and bottled water. There used to be a daily charge for Internet, but it's been rolled into the resort fee.

That is pretty normal now. This is what our SFX Exchange says for late November 2016..................

Advisements:
Please advise resort if late arrival is anticipated. All members staying at a Resort in State of Nayarit, will have to pay an additional 3% state/Lodging tax. No pets are allowed. There is a $30 charge for use of the safe in the room. Parking is $34.00 per week. The Resort charges a$75.00 resort fee in addition to any State/Lodging taxes. This fee will cover Internet Access, Fitness Center Access, Daily Maid Service, Turn Down Service, Local Telephone Calls, Internal Resort Transportation, Welcome Cocktail, Daily newspaper (upon request), No cover charge at Santuario, and Incoming Faxes.

Sounds like it covers a lot at Nuevo. The desk clerk did not know what it covered, just a charge. We still pay for water, Internet, fitness... ???????

Dear Ron & Joan
We were there the beginning of Feb - and as I posted above the internet at MP PV Marina is different than Vidanta's Neuvo resorts and it is probably due to an existing contractual agreement with an outside internet provider that has xxx time until the contract ends . Evan as owners we paid for access there but had it for free the following week at NV Sea Garden .

If you used the ( provided )transportation to the resort from the airport - that was in the fee

The manager at MP PV - Marina is Erika . She is a long time Vidanta employee and very customer service focused and was very active on the property .



I am sure you will enjoy the week - even if the fee is just for extra sunshine .

Hi Joan & Ron, Wish we were there with you. We had to cancel our Feb/March visit. Think we will try again in the fall when the summer weather cools off.
