On my way to HGVC Flamingo in 5 days, and will opt for the valet parking $10 a day, that's fine but... you call your car 4 -5 times a day what would most of you tip these guys?

Don't get me wrong the staff has always been extremely friendly and wonderful but still what would a good tipping amount be?

I know there is FREE parking in the garage across the way but it is quite a walk.

I am always wondering if I am over tipping or under tipping.. This should give me a good barometer..

Also what about tipping for other services, i.e. when you end your stay, bell desk, front desk? And on that note does tipping get you a better view room?

I am so curious to hear how others tip.

We usually arrive with 3 large suitcases and 3 backpack size plus a case of water and a food shopping bag, I tip $10 to the bellhop for bringing them up to the room.

I tip $2 to the valet.

I dont tip at the front desk for room, dont think it would help.

We usually give $2 or $3 to the valet when they retrieve our car.

For luggage handlers/bellhop, we tip $1 - $2 per bag. In the cases where we have lots of groceries in addition to our luggage, we usually give a flat $20.

When we check out, I normally leave $20 for the housekeeper. I put it in the basket where they put the coffee.

I haven't ever slipped the front desk any money for a better room, but I am not above that and would probably offer $20.

$2-$3 is the usual valet tip at all the Las Vegas hotels.

We always give the maid a tip ($20), we give it to her directly if we can. Once, we left it sitting on the table in the room and about two months later, we got a credit from Hilton on my credit card for $20. I guess the maid turned it in as "forgotten money" in case it was a test and Hilton actually went back to figure out how to refund me.
I never use parking valet, nor bellhops so I can't comment on those. We typically don't have a car and we travel really light.

Thanks guys... that's where I was at generally speaking.. Except the Maid's I have never given a tip that large, although I don't think it is too much and I will follow suite this week. We NEVER have any service in the room while we leave for the day. We usually unpack and the room explodes with our personal crap.. LOL.. Too embarrassed to have them try to clean it..

For the maid we always leave a simple note "Your Tip, Thank you" and draw a smiley face. My friend piles all the towels in the tub and puts the tip on top. He tips big.

Even if the maid doesn't come during the week, I always leave a $20 tip. They have a large area to clean after we vacate. I always leave the place neat, but it's a lot of work to clean a 2 BR, 2 bath unit, and they are possibly the hardest working and most poorly compensated workers in the resort.

I agree and it is good to hear of the generosity and consideration.
