At the Fort Lauderdale cruise ship dock area I spotted a shuttle bus that looked like it took folks to car rental returns at the FLL airport for free. Anyone know which car rental agencies serving Fort Laud airport have a free shuttle going back and forth to/from the cruiseship area? TIA for any advice!

I remember on my Hawaii cruise, there were several car rental shuttle buses picking up at the port stops. We rented from Dollar/Thrifty cause I read about it on the Cruise Critic site. I'm sure you will get a better answer if you post your question on the cruise critic Florida/SE forum. Or call your preferred rental agency at the Fort Lauderdale airport.

Alamo and National have the big bus and the other agencies have vans. It is free, but technically a service included in your rental. They will ask to see your rental contract but don't look at it too closely. We use this routinely. Usually fly in the night before, rent a car, do dinner and any last minute shopping. We usually drop everyone and the luggage at the pier, gas up in Dania Beach and return the car, and hop on the bus. Very convenient, usually back to the ship in less than an hour.

You can also cab it, around $14.
