I am looking at booking Orlando next year for a friend. Which resort has the most facilities ?? Such as large or multiple pools, on site restaurants or something very close, easy drive to attractions. Good for teenagers
thanks !

I think any of the Palms resorts might work nicely....with Sabal Palms being the closest to the expanded facilities that you seek. Sabal itself is small and has its own small pool, but it has very close proximity to the Marriott Orlando World Center, which has multiple pools, a water slide tower (may be a $10 per villa per day charge when you use that), and multiple restaurants (and even a food court) all on site. The World Center is a very short walk from Sabal Palms. And you can't beat the location if close to the Disney parks is what you are after.

There are other MVC resorts that are larger and more self contained, but because of the proximity to the World Center and ability to use its facilities, Sabal popped into my mind.

I second the recommendation of Sabal Palms. You would be staying in Marriott's first purpose built timeshare resort and it is still top notch. It is my favorite Marriott in Orlando.

Grande Vista has multiple pools, beach volleyball, boat rentals, and sits off International Drive giving you access to the trolley and all the food and fun International Drive offers.

Lakeshore Reserve has a lazy river, 2 water slides, and access to the adjacent J.W. Marriott (which has what I consider the best overall pool complex/lazy river in Orlando) as well as a high ropes course.

I have also heard good things about the teen center at Cypress Harbor (but won't know for sure until we go there next month for Thanksgiving week).

The good news is there are plenty of good choices to pick from. The bad news is you have plenty of good choices to pick from.

We've stayed at Cypress Harbour and at Imperial Palms -- both were excellent choices. At Imperial Palms, we spent the day at the World Center pool complex and it was terrific. I echo the comments of others that you can't go wrong with any of the Marriott timeshares in Orlando.

Best,

Greg

Hi,
The only Marriott that I would not choose for teenagers is Harbour lake. It is very focused on small children.
All the rest are Excellent.
The 3 Palms are the closest to disney with easy access to Universal. Cypress Harbour and Grande vista are both easy access to Disney and Universal. Both Cypress and Grande Vista have a ton of activities for all ages.
Lakeshore is the furthest from both attractions.

Each Orlando property has something to offer. Harbour Lake has the pirate ship pool area, which may make it lesser preferred for your teenage group. Grande Vista and Cypress Harbour are both large and have a lot to offer in terms of activities, green-space, pools, etc. We love CH, but depending on your bed requirements, the second BR at CH may not meet your needs. Bed+pullout. GV has some dual-bed second BR options, and also has 3BR units if you want more private sleeping space. Lakeshore is a more upscale design, with great pools and room configurations. But it's a few minutes farther from WDW compared to all others if that's on the activity plan. Sabal, Imperial and Royal Palms in contrast are the closest to WDW and you do get the accessibility to the Marriott hotel property. You may need to go to the hotel to get the pool experience you may be looking for, though.

Again, can't really go wrong here. Drive time to Disney parks is no more than 15-20 minutes from all but Lakeshore. Add just a few minutes there.

My usual top factors are required bed configuration, and %Disney time.

Lakeshore ropes course was gone the last time we were there which was late July.

Can't wait to try Cypress Harbour next week...I've heard they have a great activities program too.

CH is great right now, probably our favorite in Orlando. Time will tell with the developer sale of all the surrounding property. I know the Board has an advocate trying to protect interests, but it will inevitably change the overall landscape. Really hope it can continue to be desirable. I understand that golf course management isn't a primary goal of MVW's business, but it does seem like they shafted the owners a bit here by selling all the way to CH's property lines.
