Ar WKORV for a few weeks. They e started a major refurbishment beginning with building 2. I was told everything was coming out, except for the cabinets and countertops. There will be all new furniture, new carpets and new curtains.

The sleeper sofas should be significantly improved, and the same as the new ones at WKORV-N. They use Tempurepedic mattresses. This should eliminate the need for rollaway beds for just an extra person or two, as the new sleepers should finally be comfortable for adults to use.

They will do flor by floor and then move on to building 3.

It is nice to see the property being kept up.

I don't know the timeline, but they just started on the 6th floor of building 2. At least that's the floor one of the workers was working on to bring stuff down in the elevator. They'll be working down from there.

According to one of the workers, it will take them a week or so per floor to get the refurbishment done. I guess you should request a high floor in building 2 to get one of the refurbished units.

It makes no sense to do this during high season, when demand is high. I can't imagine why they didn't do it off-season - like the fall.

Denise, retirement from teaching must be suiting you! It's the third week of August already. Kids are back in school. And with it taking 1-2 weeks per floor per building, they HAVE scheduled the refurbishment for Fall!

I just think they should have waited until September -

Hawaii Travel Demand Index: week 35 = first week of Sept.

Refurb Schedule?

Any additional info you could pass on re: the Building 2 refurb schedule would be great. We will be there the week of September 26 and have always been on the 6th floor of Building 2 (reserve 12 months ahead on the dot).
Thanks so much!

Building 2, 6th floor should be done in the next week or so. It is the first floor being refurbished. You should t have any problem staying there towards the end of December.
