I am interested in buying a 154k contract with a September Anniversary. Is there a way to save the current years points. If I take the deal it is unlikely to close before points expire.

Not part of this deal, but if you buy a resale contract and they had pooled or deposited to RCI points what happens to those points?

no way to save those points, unless the seller makes a reservation for you (and either uses or pays for a guest confirmation

if these points were in the credit pool they likely would transfer

points deposited to RCI will be lost

Thanks Ron for the quick response, How far out can he book a reservation with the points? And can I modify the reservation once the account is in my name?

To use this year's points can only book as far as the end of the use year. The reservation will not transfer unless it is the last contract in the current owner's account, and even then it may not transfer. If it does transfer, you can cancel it as if you had made the reservation yourself.

My understanding is that credit pool points and RCI deposited points don't transfer. Also, when I bought mine, reservations were not allowed during the transfer.

Credit pooled points do transfer.
