Going to be at the Marriott cypress harbor and toying with just taking taxis to parks- and not renting a car. Are their stores or restaurants in walking distance?

There aren't restaurants in walking distance. If you are going to be without a car you should look at the bus service. There is a stop right outside of the CH complex.

Hi,
there is a new bone fish grill at the corner of Central florida parkway that you could easily walk to. Other than that you would want to take the trolly that is outside the resort. The trolly will get you to a whole bunch of shopping and restaurants along International Blvd.
My guess it that if you are going to the parks you will find anything other than a car difficult or expensive. The nice thing about a taxi to the parks though is that you don't have the parking fee.

How often does the trolley run to the park and back to the resort.

We are going to be in Orlando 2 weeks around christmas- one week at cypress harbor and one week at orange lake. We plan to go to Disney 8 days, and plan to just hang out at the resorts the other days. Car rental for the two weeks is about $1150. 8 days of parking at Disney is $136- so with gas easily $1300. I think I can do taxis from airport to resorts and resort to resort and resorts to disney for roughly half that. Will having a car be worth the extra expense?

The Trolley is a great idea for International Drive.

The Lynx Bus system will take you from the stop across from SeaWorld to either Downtown Disney or the Ticket and Transportation center. This is a much better/cheaper option than a taxi, but it will require using the Disney transportation system also. If you are used to using public transportation this is the way to go if saving money is important.
