Bluegreen membership at Wilderness Club @ Big Cedar Lodge (Branson)

I live 30 minutes from Big Cedar Lodge, and my family LOVES the resort, but I don't own there and I definitely don't know anything about Bluegreen. My cabinetmaker (I renovate old homes), knowing that I like timesharing, just asked if I wanted his 20,000 annual Bluegreen points(?) membership at Big Cedar. We own all the timeshares we need (well, honestly, a bit more than we NEED ), so can't use his unit/points now. Can anyone offer good advice to my friend? Is there a market for Bluegreen/Big Cedar timeshares?

Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

There are a number of facebook page groups for bluegreen owners. One is Bluegreen owners buy and sell. Ask on there and weed through those who are clueless.

The advantage of buying resale. Blugreen points deeded at Big Cedar is that you are eligible to book bonus time there at that resort only. I am unsure if the resort offers day use as well. You can also book your underlying deeded unit at 13-11 months out so depending on time of year, this can be a valuable deed. You might want to inquire what week/unit type he has although he might not know. He can call Bluegreen and ask for you. It is his account number(s) that translates into weeks/ unit numbers

I have 3 weeks in a row same checkin day in la cabana Aruba :whoopie: and that makes me very happy.



You might want to take this freebie and give away something else you have.

Edit....if you do take over this ownership, make sure to put your children's name on the deed as well so all will have access to bonus time. Only owners can book BT and must be present at check in.

Thanks for the info. It's tempting to take him up on the offer, but we really don't think we'd use it. It's just so easy to spend the day in/around Branson, and sleep in our own bed at night. If/when we stay at Big Cedar, it's only for a night at a time. His membership (I don't know if it is points or deeded weeks?) is based on two October weeks (highest season) in a 1BR lodge unit. Two weeks is WAY more time than we could use.

Sadly, he has owned these weeks for years, and has never used them, so isn't quite sure how they work. I'm curious if he would be able to book any week in his season - summer through fall? Does anyone know how that works?

The Yahoo Bluegreen Vacation Club Owner group only has 13 members - is that the group you're talking about, Pat, or is there a more active group?

Actually he has a points ownership...so you can book as little as two nights at a time. Since weekends require more points, you most likely would get 4-6 weekend stays depending on time of year and unit size.....extremely flexible ownership. The booking window opens at 11 months for 2-14 days Resies.
