Marriott is asking me for my preference in room location. I guess they mean what floor do I want.

Any suggestions?

is a very tall resort, with a pool on the roof.

higher the better IMO....elevators are quite quick!

You have a choice of high/low floor or East/West view. East view is away from the strip. West view is of the strip. The west view of tower 2 would be towards the pool that's now between towers 2 and 3. I would think that a lower floor, west view in tower 2 might pick up some pool noise during the day. I believe tower 3 is now open. I'm not sure what the views are like from that tower as we haven't been to our home resort in a few years but, the east view would be at tower 2 and some of the southeast end of the strip while the southwest view is away from the strip and possibly towards the airport.

If it were me I'd probably ask for highest floor possible, east facing room in towers 1 or 2.

See what happens when I answer someone after working a 12 hour night shift. I can't keep my directions straight.

Honestly through, we've had both east and west views. I enjoy them both and sometimes prefer to look out over the lights of the valley instead of the strip. But then again, we use to go to Vegas 3 to 6 times per year.

Doug, you need to come back to Las Vegas. There's lots of new stuff to see!

We'll be there in a few weeks. We were there last October. I'm not certain if we'll go back in 2015. Vegas is nice but, we use to like the cheap and cheesey Vegas. During the dot.com era things got to expensive. Now Vegas is a bunch of high toned hotels that look a lot alike. We liked the neon signs, decent gambling even if you're a low statkes gambler, hosts who remembered your name and the stupid places like Nickel Nicks where you could get a donut for a nickel and a cup of coffee for another nickel. Gone are the days of the $2.99 gamblers special breakfast of steak and eggs plus $1 if you wanted a platter full of hash browns to go with it, replaced by celebrity chefs who want $20 for a simple burger and another $5 if you'd like a side of fries to go with it.

But watching crazy people doing crazy things has not gone away - in fact, they have gotten crazier.

Head on down to Fremont St. There's still a little of that left.
