Once owned these: FirstFairway@Walden X 2; Lawai Beach; ManhattanClub; PuebloBonitoRose; 4 South Africa--now timeshare-free
I'll go for the chorizo chillequilles, DW will have the Vanilla berry thing. I'd wash it down with one of those Bloody Mary's. DW will have OJ. Thanks.

I've never been a breakfast person...but I think Guy Fieri understands me. Sounds like my kind of breakfast! for special occasions of course.

I am getting so, so tired of overpriced "celebrity chef" restaurants.

JMHO, of course, and doesn't apply only to Guy Fieri.

Having looked at the menu and prices, I think I'm in complete agreement with Fern. I believe I'll stick with the basics at a local restaurant or that normal morning bowl of ceral and a cup of coffee.

Those prices are too expensive for me. My wife and I could buy groceries for 3 to 4 days for that much money.

We've eaten at some of his California restaurants and the food was good and priced comparable to other restaurants in the area, not celebrity priced.

I haven't checked out his LV restaurant yet.

One problem with putting a restaurant in a casino is that it will be expensive because of the high rent.

They are putting in a White Castles (a Chicago/East-Coast thing) in a Best Western on the Strip. Wonder what those mini burgers are going to cost?

Yeah. I remember buying them by the bag full, at 12 cents apiece. :D

Since we are speaking about Guy Fieri, I'd like to make a comment here.

Two weeks from now is Restaurant Week in the Valley. Many of the "celebrity chefs" in the area are on the list, and donate a portion of their proceeds to Three Square, our local food bank. Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill is the host of the kickoff event this year, and is donating *all* of the proceeds from the event.

Other celebrity chefs whose restaurants are involved and donating part of the proceeds of each Restaurant Week meal (donations are $4-6. per meal) include Tom Colicchio, Emeril (several restaurants), Buddy V., Michael Mina (several restaurants), Scott Conant, Mario Bitali and Paul Bastianich (several restaurants), Gordon Ramsay, Jose Andres (several restaurants), Daniel Boloud, and others who've I've forgotten at present.

Guy Fieri, who makes a big thing out of "being a Las Vegan" since he went to UNLV, is noticibly missing from the list. If he wants to be a part of the community, then he should think about what it means to be part of the community. Saying it doesn't make it so.

Giada also isn't involved, but her restaurant is only two months old or so, so I will give her a pass for now.

Wolfgang Puck is hugely involved in the Keeping Memory Alive charity here, so he gets a pass too.

First, thanks for the heads up on Restaurant Week in Las Vegas, I hadn't heard about it.

Second, hard for ME to fault Guy without knowing why he won't be there/here. Assuming that he was invited and he's not filming, that would be a different story. He does have a couple of different programs on TV and he does travel a lot, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but that's me. Hey, I also have two of my degrees from UNLV.

I didn't mean Guy's person participation, I meant his restaurant's. I guess I
wasn't clear enough.

Hope you enjoy whatever places you choose for Restaurant Week. Emeril's places, and Michael Mina's really go all out. And if you are hankering for Corned Beef, Carnegie deli is on the list for lunch, and it is $20.10 for a Corned Beef or Pastrami sandwich and a slice of NY cheesecake. Heck, the sandwich costs almost that much!

Restaurant Week in Las Vegas is August 22-28, 2014.

As soon as I saw Jose Andres name, I knew that was a go to. Eating Greek @ the Market Grill Cafe right now .

Jaleo or China Poblano? Both interesting concepts...

Maybe I'm too often a tourist, but I think food at just about any restaurant is getting to be more expensive than it should be. I live in a modest town north of Seattle, and even in our little burg an average breakfast in an average chain restaurant averages around $10, and higher if you want certain add-ons. And we're talking basic breakfast stuff, not anything exotic or designer. Paying $16 for fancy-schmancy breakfast in a celebrity chef restaurant in Las Vegas almost sounds like a bargain.
