I rented a MGC week from him for last November and didn't have any problems with it.

What type of reservation was it? I wasn't involved in timeshares back when this thread started it but I went through and read and I found the exchange rental speculation interesting. Googling the guy will result in a blog he wrote for TimeSharing Today in which he defends himself on getting banned by RCI for renting out exchanges. The issue is from 2005 which was a year before this thread began.

In light of my recent flag and temp block by Interval I seriously doubt that this guy is renting out Interval exchanges, but I am still curious on the reservation type.

If his rentals that got him banned really were originally for personal use but ran into "personal" problems as he describes it, why would he still be running a large volume rental business today? It is very old news but it doesn't pass the sniff test. I am just curious on if he is still dabbling in exchanges.

It was a rental from him as the owner of the unit, not a rental of an Interval Exchange. My name was added to the Marriott reservation along with his.

Thanks for the update. I didn't think there was any way it could be II since they scrutinize even moderate volume. He must own quite a few timeshares.
