Ok, Walked away from the table(sales presentation turns high pressure very fast at the end)...

Need input from owners/resale owners at this property.

They made it sound "Today's" incentive...

Two-Bedroom Unit...
$14,900

or

bi-annual
$9,900

You will have membership in the Rental Program, and that "ANY" year you do not want to come just tell us in the beginning of the year.
They will rent out your Two-Bedroom unit($1,400) and cut you a check minus your Maint.Fee and it will pay for itself.
Could this possibly be true? That every year i could just have them rent it out for me?

Also does anyone know or can shed any light on the ICE Platinum Rewards
They were giving Two year membership to ICE.
First they said 4wks a year then it went to UNLIMITED weeks.

They were showing us many weeks at many resorts for $49 a week!
Could anyone join this program if you own a Timeshare already? Is it easy to book what you see available for $49 and up?

I said i think we are going to walked away(to the offer) from the table and the (((GUY))) just could not understand "why we would walk away from an offer like this?" "Your Wife i think get's it -now you just have to get it.

That's when i started to get all huffy and said NO, NOW I REALLY DONT WANT IT.

No 'deal' is today only. It'll be there tomorrow and 6 months from tomorrow.

Very few timeshares will rent reliably for enough to cover your maintenance fee. If they could rent for more, don't you think that's what they would do instead of paying you to sit through one of those torture sessions
and force innocent people to buy them?

Never buy from a developer. Buy resale, save thousands. Get it?

Here are the completed eBay auctions on that resort. The ones that list the price in green sold. the red ones didn't. http://www.ebay.com/csc/i.html?_sacat=0&_nkw=kings+creek+plantation&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc With apologies, only one of these was a sale, the rest are rentals. But you get the idea.

So, long story short, Welcome to TUG. Hang here, learn about TS, THEN if you are still interested, there are lots and lots of good deals that aren't going anywhere.

Jim, thanks for your response, have been looking at resales available and they are anywhere from $1250 on up for similar 3 bedrooms to what we were shown for $14900. what really peaked our interest was this ICE program. question we have is can anyone with a timeshare join it? we have access to timeshare in Aruba that we could enroll if that is possible, but looking at the website, don't see how one joins.... does the resort have to sign you up? would be worth the membership fee without a doubt if the offers we were shown really exist. what if I buy at kings creek on a resale, could I back door myself into ICE? can not seem to get info on program on line... might consider purchasing a fixed summer week at resale just to rent it out on my own or exchange for other locations. did like that they are in top 25 resorts along with some other well known & desirable locals.

What's ICE? All I am familiar with is what water turns into at 32 degrees Fahrenheit. If it's an exchange outfit (I suspect), they would welcome a new member willing to pay the dues. Call them and ask. Google is your friend.

Remember, buy resale. Buy where you want to vacation at minimum, half the time. Buying to exchange is never a good deal, dues and exchange fees and guest certs and housecleaning certs will take any possibility of breaking even out of the equation. Sure there are some perks with developer purchase, but when you figure out what they cost, they are NEVER worth the difference.

ICE also has a program through SFX. It is the Diamond Rewards Membership. I haven't seen any posts of anyone who really loves ICE or platinum rewards. Most post I have seen have been from people who had it paid for through the resort for a period of time and when the promotional time was finished did not elect to continue. This is the SFX memership page. You could call the number and see if they accept the resort you already currently own and ask how this membership would be different than the one offered through the resort you were just at. It looks like it would be $299 per year but they also have specials if you go for longer periods. The problem is if you haven't tried it out yet you probably aren't looking to spent a higher upfront fee for something you may not use.

The timeshare resort sales process is the sum of years and years of research and testing. Most consumers are not able to withstand the power of the sales process and their ability to make payment plans that are affordable for everyone. I frankly don't even trust myself in those situations and try to avoid the closed door high pressure sale as much as possible. If you can't sleep on it, then they are trying to pull a fast one on you.

If ICE is just SFX Diamond, you are better offer buying Diamond membership directly from SFX. Last year, someone posted that they were offered lifetime membership for $2500. I don't know what an annual membership would cost. I've asked 2 reps from SFX about Diamond and they both steered me back to platinum, which is a much less expensive option.

I get Diamond info in my spam folder once in a while. These are the $49. weeks that recently showed up. It looks like a really nice deal if you can plan your travel a week or less out.

needs help

Noone - no one is going to pay $1400 for a week. Many owners would be delighted to sell their week for $1400.

If they can get you a week for $49 ............ why would someone else pay you $1400 for the same type of accommocaiton..

wake up .. smell the scam
