A/C for deposit not available in corp II acct?

So I log in to II this morning. For the first time since enrolling I am told I have two II accounts and to click on one to continue. I click on my old one. Look at my inventory and see the familiar "deposit by and get an extra week vacation" next to my 2 BR unit AND the master portion of my 2 BR unit (Ko Olina). I log off. Log on to the Corp account and that A/C offer is not there. Do you no longer receive those offers once you enroll? I have used this A/C before and thought it was a nice perk. That would suck if they are no longer offered. :annoyed:

You probably have to call II and ask them about this. Tell them that in your old account you were offered the AC but in the new one the offered isn't there. It probably has more to do with the timing of when the offer was made. You can still get ACs for deposits in the new II corporate account. Next year if an offer is made, it shouldn't be an issue since the account will already be setup at the time of the offer being extended.

I am wondering. if I lock off in the old account and make the deposit of the master would I be charged the $75.00?? Can I even do that for my 2013 week since I am now enrolled???? The offer expires tomorrow. Not a huge deal as with a newborn I am stuggling to use what I have (have a studio replacement week expiring in 20 days which is killing me)

When you are locking off, you are doing so with MVCI and not II. So you would be locking off as an enrolled member and the $80 lock off fee would not be charged. It is up to you which II account you want to deposit it to. However, if you deposit it to your old individual II account, you will still be charged the $119 exchange fee when you go to exchange. If you were planning to exchange it to a non Marriott anyway, then it really doesn't matter where you deposit it since you pay that fee no matter which account is used.

DUH!!.. Sorry. Only one cup of coffee so far. Forgot about the lockoff happening on mvci.com This is my co-owners week. No clue what he is going to do with it as he leaves the timeshare stuff up to me as he is clueless. I will present him the options and let me decide.

Sorry to start a new thread on this one. If not appropriate please merge with my other.

However, I just got off the phone with II. They told me that since my destinations account is a "free account" that the bonus week offer is not available to me. WTF?? So No more A/C's if I deposit my Ko Olina first? I have actually used these things. Also at 165 a year. It is by no means a "FREE ACCOUNT" That is quite irritating. :wall:

Too bad. Maybe you can add this information to the sticky describing the DC. Some people complain the AC is useless anyway. Did you ask whether an XYZ exchange is available with your deposit?

I would call back to see if another II rep says the same thing, because it doesn't seem like what this one said is correct.

This year for the first time in several years we got AC offers for our weeks and the printed offer references our DC-related II account number on it, not our old II account. If they tried to tell me the DC account wasn't eligible for AC's I'd just have to point to their offer to prove them wrong.

Basically the II rep had no other way to explain why your old account had the AC offer and the new one didn't. Flat out, they just made up an answer on the spot to try to get you off the phone. JMO.

I agree with Sue, call back and try to get another rep, call the Marriott Desk directly if possible.

Would you say you have experienced basically the same amount of A/C offers as you did in your legacy account?

We have never gotten ACs for either of our Orlando weeks, so no difference for us. It seems that Sue has had an AC offer now with the new DC account where they have never had one before.

I don't think the new DC account will make much of a difference in determining whether you will get an AC or not. They will continue to be targeted based on what II wants and needs to meet demand.

I have three XYZ's available to me right now in my new DC account. I have gotten one with every exchange I have ever made in either account. And there is no exchange fee to use them for another Marriott if the original trade was in the new account.

Are you sure about that? I believe Sue posted that there was, in fact, a charge for those xyz's in the corporate acct.

I am as sure about that as I can be with an unpublished program. In fact, the last II agent I spoke to first told me that there would be a charge and I asked her to double check. So she put the XYZ into her system to see what the fee would be if I used it for a Marriott timeshare resort. She was surprised when the system told her the charge would be zero. Two other II agents had previously told me there would be no charge.

I can concur with BocaBoy on the XYZ fee. I just did an XYZ Type I (based on private sleeping capacity, Type II is the surplus inventory XYZ) exchange today and there was no exchange fee for either the regular exchange or the second.

I asked the rep to check on the fee before I did the exchange and he said that he was told that there would be a $129 fee (extra for over the phone) but when he went and put it all in the computer he said it came up with no fee. DC saved us $258 for just this transaction.

This is great news! The way they're able to process things is always more telling than the things they may say, whether you're talking about Marriott or II reps. So if this is the way XYZ's are processing through the DC accounts, then it's a bonus for us. Nice! (From now on I'll change what I'm saying about paying for XYZ's and use this thread as a reference.)

Sue, I can't believe in all the years of trading your 3BR weeks that II never offered you an XYZ Type I. The explanation I was given today was that it is based on private sleeping capacity. You can get two (or more?) exchanges where the private sleeping capacity is equal to the unit you are giving up. We were giving up a 1BR unit with a private sleeping capacity of 4, we were able to get two studio units each with a private sleeping capacity of 2. You should have at least been able to get a 2BR and a studio when trading down your 3BR unit.
